A vaping topic Think this is a bit of a 'back to basics'. I've been using my clearomiser, and I've now fired up the V3 - which is great, much better than the one that came with the Vision 900. However, cartomiers - after my one and only failed method of the 'condom fill' I have used the little bottle with the needle on it. Makes it far easier for me to control and fill without have to squeeze/drip/wait - now I have sometimes cheated to the point of tuck the needle between the inside wall and the wadding, gently squirt, and it soon fills up. However.......my favourite cartomiser - seems to run dry very quickly, and it's not me vaping it out, I don't think? ??? What is the life span of a cartomiser? When it dies, is it the coil that goes (ie the heating element), I actually have no idea what it is called? When the taste goes so quickly does this mean it is 'on its way out'? I've used it on the Innokin 180 mAh cig-a-likes, and the Vision e-Go T 1000mAh. Is / has my filling method 'killed off' this cartomiser? Can anyone recommend a cartomiser that isn't a boge 510, Innokin 510, or a Kanger. Any view on horizontal / bottom coils? Thank you all very much

I top fill my carto's as well Tim . . . the life span of a carto depends on how heavily you vape, what juice you use as some will gunge up the coil quicker than others and whether you've kept them wet enough during their lifespan. After about 10ml of juice through mine, I find the performance diminshes.

You have a favourite carto? You should save those emotions for shinier more permanent things Cartos get clogged up from juice residues... I think both in the wadding and on the coil (you can't dry burn a carto to get rid of it). You can boil/wash/freeze cartos to extend their life a little, but ultimately they are disposable items and not something to get attached to.

.......it was my very first, and my first item in my Vape-Escape basket, along with my very first order, (it was a pre-filled), but it was also the first one I topped up, and re-filled, and my first mixed flavour. It was also the first one I peeled off the ghastly looking filter style sticky paper off it so it is all shiny. I can't help it :-[ .....does this mean I have to buy a provari?

Good this is isn't it? Ask about some cartomiser basics, and end up looking at £170 quids worth of provari - ??? Even more confused now, but also wondering if 4200mAh high-drain 18650 batteries will be ok, as they're only £7 - far cheaper than I've seen the AW batteries. This has nothing to do with cartomisers though (should I have a 'z' in there instead of an 's'?) - well I am about to fill a brand new Innokin cartomiser, as I think I've worn my favourite one out, it's only been a week and a day Might consider some i3's

When used carto's exclusively (before this it was atomisers and cartridges) I found that a Boge or a kanger lasted me about a week before the vape faded. In the days when we had just atomisers and cartridges the coils used to blow for a pastime. These days it is rare for a coil to blow in a cartomiser before the vape gets weak due to the carbon build up (gunk).

Did a little experiment - boge 510 vs Innokin 510 cartomiser Boge = airy / light / very little throat hit (th) if any. Innokin = flavour + th - not as easy to fill as the boge, but easy enough. The boge's seem a little random in build quality, wadding seems very loose and less of it that the Innokin's, which seem tighter. above vs Vision Ego V3 rainbow Vision Clearomiser - moderate to good - on all accounts. Innokin cartomiser I think wins hands down for my RY-4 karoffee-kick mix (all conducted on fully charged ego-T batteries)....so I'm guessing, I need a Provari? Might try some i3's from UKe-cigs

Can anyone recommend a cartomiser that isn't a boge 510, Innokin 510, or a Kanger. Any view on horizontal / bottom coils? Thank you all very much I must be one of a very few people who actually prefer cartomisers to the clearomisers. I have never really got along with clearomisers (well..the couple of times I've tried it) but am open to give it a go again because it does seem a better way of taking on your liquid. Anyway, I get a fairly good lifespan out of a cartomiser. Obviously some are better than others but on average I would say around 2 weeks. I also clean them by boiling them, which so far, has worked very well (out of eight or so that I clean using this method, I may lose one or two). I've never had too much problem with the taste going - Yes, I have had that burning taste when it begins to run a dry but no actual real flavour going. My tip, after experimenting with them, is that you need to be patient unfortunately. A fresh cartomiser needs to be initially filled using the 'condom method' then topped up repeatly a few times and left to 'sit' overnight. The next day, vape it for an hour or so and repeat fill that evening (so that a small pool forms on the top) and leave it to soak in again over night. In my experience, I have never lost any taste and hardly ever get to the stage where you get that burning taste. Ultimately, you need to be patient IMO. To get a carto working at its best needs at least 24 hours to completely soak the juice in. Hope this helps in some way.
