I'm not sure about this ??? they're no older than three months and bought from the main supplier for my SD mk2. (They get hot, not red-hot but enough to make me fret and take the battery out and leave it a while before putting back in the charger)

I have never had a battery get hot and I would worry if one did.

If they are getting that hot I would suggest you may have a short. Can you vape when the button is pressed? And a little more info might help on when they get hot?
Regardless of the above I would not be using or charging those batts mate. Getting that hot is just not right tbh.

No they should not get hot, what charger are you using? Slightly warm is normal for some chargers- not good ones I might add As gary suggests it could be a short or the charger could be dumping power into the batteries way too fast or even overcharging them which can get quite dangerous. Stop using the charger right away.
If we are mis-understanding and the batteries are getting hot when vaping then under certain conditions I.E when you are chain vaping from a very low res attie then the power drain from the battery will cause it to heat up significantly, if not then it would be indicative of a short in the attie.

My eGo-C 650mah is getting warmer so perhaps I need to change the attie---HOW? I don't have any tools that will fit to pull it out? Help please. Edited. It is ok , I have a pair of pliers and pulled it out from the bottom.

You don't need pliers to pull the eGo-C head out Phoenix.
Just unscrew the base from the cone and lift the atty head out.

If they get hot, they are getting more current than they can handle..If you are charging a 18350 with 1 amp or more, that is what is likely to happen.
They should be charged at 500 mA..If there is a setting in the charger for this, use it.

Thanks for your replies, yes I am still worried!
Would like to add that these are the grey ICR18350 'special lithium' batteries', 3.7v 900mAh. I have always used these from the same supplier where I got the SDmk2 (TW). I have always used the charger that they sent to me in the original kit. It's just a grey wall charger that came with this kit..
The batteries only get hot when they are in the charger, they seem to reach a peak in hotness then cycle down-get cooler- after about 2.5 hrs or so. Will look into replacing this charger if it's causing the problem, was just unsure and all.

This is a good charger and will give you the option to switch between 500 ma and 1 amp modes for small and big batteries respectively. Clicky
