Many of us start in the beginners section keen to find out more, keen to improve our health but not give up the whole smoking experience. Myself, I have always been the most extreme of people, it's a defect in my personality, I could smoke an analogue in under a minute (because I have always been a senior manager or MD I got annoyed with others standing around for 10 minutes smoking and talking) so I developed the one minute ciggy. I could get through 60 a day at one point but got it down to 30 or so over the past few years. This didn't help though, I was still having coughing fits, still I was out of breath when doing an physical exercise and still stunk of smoke and had yellow teeth etc. I gave up just the once, being quite a determined person I managed 11 months before one evening I could not battle it any further, I went out, bought a packet of 20 and after the initial head spin and yucky flavour I was well and truly hooked again. Forward wind to January of this year, I woke up one day with an awful chest, my children were worried because I was just not right and I decided it was now the time to try and stop this again. I mulled it over for weeks and then one day in my local garage one of the guys I knew in there offered me a cheapo ecig to try, I stood there amazed at the smoke coming out, taste wasn't all that but figured if thuis was the worst where was the best..... So I went home, I trawled the internet for a while and all I could find were the companies that had invested the most in marketing, your SkyCigs etc. Plumped for a SkyCig kit and it arrived on February 14th, I laid down my precious Marlboro Lights and screwed a carto in and off I went. I was totally bowled over, the only reason I remebered that day was because it was valentines day and I was doing this for my missus' present: This was a huge moment because this was the first time I had reclaimed our garden after 6 months of building supplies and mounds of earth had ruined the garden due to the house extension I was building. Then came my discover of the wonderfully friendly and informative AAEC, I did my research, asked a whole load of questions which everyone kindly answered and in week one I had the following kit: 2 Riva's 1 LT, stardusts, DCT tank, numerous juices, the Skykit was now abaondoned and forotten about. As the weeks progressed I decided to hold back on purchases to see what it would cost me if I were on a budget (just so if I fell on hard times I knew what this new hobby would ACTUALLY cost), suprised me to find out that it would cost a mere £40 if I just stuck to carts and juice. The the gloves came off, I decided to do some stockpiling and research the best kit, whilkst I was doing this my mum decided she wanted to vape as well so got her a Twist, she had some duff carts and sent the whole thing back to me to work out what was wrong. Yup, duff carts but this gave me an opportunity to try the twist, bloody nora, it was miles better than my V1.0 LT, lasted as long and looked great, only downside is looked like a wand: So I decided I needed one, bought a Twist as my backup to my backups, haven't used it that much yet but I do know when I pick it up I will get an amazing vape. And onto the Provari, this was bought so I could experience the pinnacle of vaping pleasure. I have to admit being a tad apprehensive, its not so much the cost but the "value for money" I was worried about, what if this was just a small step up for a £20 twist? What if it drank batteries (that cost alot)? What if the experience just wasn't "all that"? Well it is "all that", it doesn't do any of the things I fear and I am very happy with it, I think it is the natural progression of any vaper, I figure it as being with me for years so the outlay is minimal considering the fact that it should/will be by my side every day for the next however long: Sorry for the long post, this is my journey and it's been a really happy one, at this point during my last quit off analogues I went from being 13.5 stones to over 18 (19 at one point) and I think it was that issue that made me go back. Yes I have put a little weight on this time but only a stone but that's because I am working from home and sitting around, I lost that stone in the past 1.5 weeks by doing some exercise and restricting my fat intake. So all in all vaping is a brilliant switch for me, I'm happy, I have the correct equipment and my health has improved so much I cannot tell you. Happy Vaping!!

Excellent story Tim, and similar to many I suspect. Looking at your first pic I was surprised to see you'd bought your wife a JCB for valentines, I'd never get away with that

Excellent story Tim, and similar to many I suspect. Looking at your first pic I was surprised to see you'd bought your wife a JCB for valentines, I'd never get away with that Lol - that was what she put on FB, and I quote: "Great, he's got me a JCB for Valentine's, how romantic" It wasn't till later and the entire garden was laid to lawn that she came the conclusion that it was actually a fantastic Valentines prezzie: Before: After:
