Just popped down to my local corner shop, as you do, and I noticed he's now selling E-lites. My 1st thought was, good to know and handy in case of liquid shortage or battery failures. But - He's positioned them on his counter in amongst the discount sweets he sells. Legally not a problem I imagine but the kind of placement which may not help when defending our habit/hobby. I dont really know the chap that runs the shop, used to buy fags there but he's already lost that business . So the question is, Should I say anything?

That's a difficult one if you don't really know the chap One does wonder what is going through his mind putting them there ??? I find myself quickly scanning the ciggie displays in shops to see if any are forward thinking enough to stock e-cigs. It wouldn't occur to me to look next to the sweets! Perhaps that could be a way to bring it up? say something like 'oh great, I know where to come now when I run out, nearly didn't notice though with them being next to the sweets'?

I'd tell him straight out, but then I'll tell anyone anything.

I think what I would do is query the e cig and say " Oh what are these? are they a new cigarette type looking sweet what next? you would assume that the sweet company's would come up with something better to get children's attention, not a cigarette type looking one" then when he explains to you that it's an e cig, I would say " Oh, so why are they being displayed beside the sweets, they should be on the same shelf as cigarettes so as smokers CAN SEE!"
Would that be too rude?

Displaying them with the sweets gives more ammo. for regulating. I would probably make a joke of it by saying something on the lines of...... Oh can kids buy E-cigs now then? I thought they were an over 18 only product. Surely he would take the hint ???

But smokers can't see cigarettes any more, can they? I think you still can in smaller outlets The ban’s introduction was delayed until April 2015 for smaller newsagents and tobacconists in order to allow them time to refit their shops
