I heard some grumbling about the AW batteries for sale on that site about the "Made in China" printed on the battery..
Can anyone please check the AW batteries they have from a confirmed genuine source and post what's printed on those?

Maybe AW have changed their labelling..Their protected batteries do say "Made in China".
Dunno..but the prices are good..

These look to be exactly the same, other than having a positive & negative symbol on the relevant ends . . . but they are 2000mAH and I've only had 1600mAH in the past and that was some time ago now.

Hmmm . . . I'm wondering now, just checked all my AW's and on the bottom they do have some writing, which I can't make out.
This one from Vapingthings doesnt?

Ok the 2000 mAh has a 10A (5C) drain with max charge current of 2A as opposed to 1600 mAh which has a 15C (24A drain) with max charge curent of 4.5 A.
The 2000 mAh drain capacity is more than sufficient for e-cig use and prices are very good..I think only the 18350 battery pictured on vapethings has the "Made in China" on the battery but I wouldn't worry about it too much because AW protected cells do carry the same legend and Hong Kong, where AW are from, is part of China..

Phew . . . that's ok then, was worried for a moment there Macca.
Tbh, I've always believed that AW was just a brand, so it's not unreasonable to assume that there are different Manufacturer's producing them?
There were some fake AW's kicking about a while back, but the casings on them looked to have been tampered with to put the red sleeve on. These certainly don't look messed about with.

AW is a battery assembler..Not a manufacturer per se..
They buy industrial cells from Panasonic and Sanyo and add protection circuitry and test, package and sell batteries in the AW Brand...It's run by a guy called Andy Wong, hence AW, but all genuine AW's are from his facilities so there aren't different manufacturers.

Ah I see Macca, thank you . . . so does he have different manufacturing facilities in China & HK then?
I'd just like to be certain before shoving this battery into my Provari.
Though I could always mail Vapingthings I suppose, though I don't like to give offence by insinuating that their products are anything but genuine batteries, as the prices & services have been outstanding.

Dunno, but Hong Kong is in China as far as I know? Genuine AW Protected cells also carry the same legend "Made in China".
I think any battery would be safe in a Provari anyway..The device has ample protection and wouldn't let the battery destroy it..Please keep us posted if you notice anything untoward as you use it though..
