They put quite a heavy load on a forum chrissie ...but it is hosted at proboards - and well they come as standard really Maybe a little trial? Or Active only when admins are online? |

Tim, they come far from standard on Proboards. As for "Active only when admins are online" do you have a code for that, as I've not come across it. BTW, I'm the only admin on the forum, so if you do have a code could you make it admin & moderators? If the code you are thinking of can't be published, PM it to me |

Oh, just most proboards seem to have them, I can certainly get you the code for a shoutbox - not a problem (won't be right now though), Admin's Mods will have the ability to either Activate it or De-activate it, also group permissions such as Registered members only. However, this is proboards, and all the coding I have dealt with has been with the likes of phpBB Drupal, Joomla, etc. It might also be theme dependent, but you're on a very basic theme without a portal. ProsMembers who lose their password can request that they need it changed Guests can ask questions Members can request for something small to happen with little effort People can just have fun They do improve the activity of the forum People can post their opinions on the board without joining, things like "It's good, but not my thing" and "Wow, I think I might join sometime" Conspeople can spam it to death people can be disgusting people advertise their board you have to sign up for a chat / shout box / you have to copy and paste code inside the template (Header or footer) Proboards don't allow an integration of management,  which is a little silly, I would personally wait for V5 and see what that brings. There is obviously no sever load, I really really thought Proboards had them as standard as you see them on almost every one! Debate time?

Not quite what I had in mind...........you see after 1am, there are still the same people on this board, doing a few posts here and there, and you see the odd guest coming and going.......I just thought, it makes it more personal, you get to fire off quick chat conversations, it would be fun, it would save PM's at 4am  |

Nope, Tim. Proboards do not have them as standard - or anything else - just about everything has to be coded into all the headers & footers. You can easily check out what I mean by creating a Proboard test forum |
