I'm sitting here laughing to myself while vaping on a cleoromiser that is giving me a burnt taste. Why am I laughing you may wonder? Well since I've joined the forum I've heard so much spoken about burnt taste coming from a cleoromiser and never experienced it until now. The question is what causes this burnt taste? I mean I've got e liquid in it, so thats kind of baffled me.

Your wicks aren't wet enough most likely Dream, some swooshing is probably required.

You swoosh in between puffs, just tilt the e-cig horizontally until some of the juice covers the wicks, this is something I do regularly when I'm vaping with a clearomiser or vivi nova, to constantly keep the wicks wet, cos that burnt taste is nasty

Is it an old clearomiser? If it's the CE2 type and not the vision stardust type then you can raise the cup seal a little to let juice in easier. I always cut the seal slots on the cup seal into /\ shapes to allow more juice to the wick than it would normally allow as I use vg.
If it's been used a while, it may need a dry burn. Just pop all the seals off, swill it with water then dry it as best you can and dry burn it - keep heating the coil with no liquid on it until it cleans itself. Don't overdo a dry burn though as it can melt the plastic if it gets too hot and can break the coil if you do it too long.
If it's a brand new one, then you may just need to put a drop or two of liquid straight onto the wick from the top without taking the inner seals out. A wet wick will soak up liquid better. It's also a good idea to do a quick dry burn before the first fill as there is sometimes some waxy stuff on there that affects the taste and how well it can wick. It's literally a 5 second button press before you put liquid in the first time. If it goes black it needs the full 5 seconds, if it smokes a little, 5 seconds but if nothing is happening, then you dont need to dry burn it.

Mh, sounds like it's not getting enough liquid in there. I'd put a drop or two right from the top straight onto the wick to get liquid on it from the get go and it'll vape alright until it's getting dry again.
Best way to fix it is to pull up the cup seal a little so it has a better juice flow when you tilt it. You'll see there's a mouthpiece seal, a doughnut seal you had to take off to fill it with a syringe and the last seal under that that sits on the cup.
If you pull that seal up just a bit it can help a lot especially if you use thicker liquids. You just need to find something long and thin enough to pry between the seal and side of the tube and just gently lift it up where the two wicks are. It's easier to do after the first time by far.
As I said though, you can cut that inner seal so it's always allowing a lot more juice in there. It's a one time job to do it then it's good for well over a month without having to do it again.
It always seems to help to keep a CE2 topped up as well. If there's less liquid in there it wont wick as well as when it's mostly full. In my experience anyway with uber thick vg. More than half way and I'll have to hold it sideways or upside down for longer for the juice to get into the wick.

Ok, I think I'm with you on this, I will try it in the morning, but when you say to cut it, do you mean the bottom end (it must be but, double checking) this is so interesting I must say and again I thank you I will let you know how I get on

Yeah, when you take it off you can see there is already two slots where the wick comes through. They're straight slots cut into the rubber. What I do is just widen the existing slots a little bit. Instead of them being straight, take something like a pair of nail scissors and turn them into a /\ shape. Only a little wider and barely higher than they already are. It stops the seal from pinching the wick and allows even all vg to wick in there.
