I got my 2 stainless steel Rivas about 4 months ago, one broke within a week or so which I got replaced. But today I noticed the replacement is broken. At the moment I only have 1 battery (ego twist is in the post to maccafan with a faulty button). I need something more reliable, I am thinking of getting something with the separate batteries. I don't want to spend a huge amount... Can anyone suggest something for me. For now I will have to get my SDK out and hope that still works

The kit I like above all the others is 1. Argento maxi (Britvapes £19.99 Add £15.00 for batteries and charger) Clicky2. Manual Switch Passthrough for JOYE510 (Health Cabin £6.75) Clicky3. A put to gether myself one from bits from Heath Cabin - Joye eGo T Upgrade 18650 Battery MOD Tube £4.05 Clicky- Joye eGo T Upgrade 18650 Battery MOD Controller £6.41 ClickyThe reason for me that they are my faves is that they all (bar the passthrough) take a 18650 battery (protected or unprotected) without the thread showing if it is a longer battery. The batteries are the same for my bike lights so I have pleanty of them. They are sturdy to take a rough user and are smaller than the LT. The passthrough one is great as it charges the battery up (in the lead) when your not using and also means that it can be unplugged and will still operate. I think it is fantastic for the car as it never runs out of power and it is lightenough to drive without getting in the way.

The argento sounds good but will probably get the mini since I will only ever use 1 battery - thought it was bad to use 2? Should I get the batteries from there? I'm quite interested in a pass through for the car now but will wait until after the olympics to order from HC. My last order still hasn't arrived.

I rightly or wrongly assumed that the two batteries would of been both 18650's. Though there is a lot of conjecture about "stacking" batteries, the RC world has been doing it for years with little problems. I would agree that using unprotected batteries is a no no on the argento (mini or maxi) as there are no electronics in them to protect the battery from short circuiting. As for the passthrough, there are only 8 left and I believe that they will not be re-stocking them once they are gone. But looking at now I have one I am thinking that it is a really easy mod to make and I might be putting some together for me to use as backups.

The mini Argento takes one 18350, and the full sized Argento takes one 18650. There is no need to stack batteries in either
