Bought myself one of these because I liked the fact they had the USB pass through so I can charge my mobile etc when I'm on holiday. They seem to charge my 18650 a load quicker than my Trustfire - why would this be? Or am I going ever so slightly mad?

It probably has a better regulated output. Are you charging at 500mA or the full 1A?

1 amp is an more suitable charging rate for a 18650..
For 18350 and 18490/500 switch it back to 500 mA..

If it's ok it should charge in just over half the time.

Thanks Macca - even the 18490 on 500 took no time at all to charge, really impressed with this, my Trustfire would take a very long time indeed to charge - also used to make a weird noise when charging for the first 30 mins, one of the reasons it's now a backup rather than my main charger. It only cost £12.50 delivered, which is a bargain!

Thanks - I'll give it a test tonight, just draining the last dregs out of the 18650 on the Provari and then I will time it to see how long it takes from zero (checking for heat chages as I do)

This really is a "belt and braces" type recommendation from me, 99.9% of the time the battery should be fine I was just erring on the side of caution
