My Kanger T2 spontaneously died today So naturally, I took it to bits. Here's the old coil: As you can see - one leg longer than the other, which is where it burned through or fractured. The reason seems to be due to the design of the head, which has a flange on the inside over which the wire must pass: Not a great pic, but you can make it out. This also makes fitting a new coil tricky too.

Here's the disassembled head: 1 Silicone cap 2 Metal insert 3 Coil and wick 4 Head tube 5 Silicone collar 6 grommet 7 Centre pin When assemled, the centre pin is recessed as the threaded portion is on the interior of the tube head.

First bit is easy - make a wick and coil as you would for a Stardust. Just make sure you have long enough tails on the coils to poke through the base of the head. The trick is to twist the tails together to make it easier to get them through without catching on the inner lip, and then untwist and separate by bending back over the tube end. I also went for longer wick than the original. The insert the grommet, with one wire inside (+ve), one outside (-ve). Push it hone - a bit fiddly, but it must be seated. Trim back the negative wire as close as possible to the grommet to make sure there is no chance of a short. Insert the centre pin and trim back the positive wire as close as possible. It helps if both ends are held under tension as they will retrect slightly when the silicone collar is slid up into position. Replace in the tank and test. No shorts

Replace the metal insert and silicone cap adjust to make sure there are no leaky spots. Fill and vape I didn't meter mine out, but gave it four turns, which with my wire, should be around 2.3-2.4 Ohms.

Got wire from designer (who posts here from time to time), but I think she ran out and isn't restocking. It's 0.16mm nichrome. The wick was from cigeliquid - it's CE2 wick. If you order from him get some Spiky Things too

Nice walkthrough and photos.
Looks very similar to the NOVA and Vision V3 head rebuild, but the head is much longer. I rewicked and coiled mine by inserting and positioning the coil from the bottom and feeding the wick through the coil through the slot using a dispensing needle. Bit fiddly but doable..

Quick update: Firstly I edited the wicks down to short like they come new. The wicks were getting trapped between the silicone collar and the top of the tank and causing dry hits. Secondly, I have found that the height adjustment on the collar is critical for avoiding dry hits and flooding - it takes a bit of fiddling to get it just right.
I have to say I've been pleasantly surprised by the T2 - it is very consistent and gives a very nice satisfying vape. I find myself picking it up in preference to my Stardusts when I need a flavour change and I'm rarely disappointed.

Great post Where did you source your wick and wire? You can get the NiChrome you need from www.wires.co.uk. They point out that they're for rebuilding e-cigs on the items.

Right..Good news & not so good news.......Made a second attempt at re-coiling & wicking a T2, but with the same result............But then I put a new unused head on & still nothing.........So I then tried the head that I've just re-wicked, into another kanger T2 that I've just bought & viola!!!!!!..........it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!..............I did it......................... ........The not so good news is it means the main post of the tank must be iffy.......Possiblt, it's not making contact with the battery....................Watch this space!!!!!...
