Anyone been watching it? I have on and off and am sad it's all over.
The metropolitan police "security runners in grey" did a brilliant job, apart from the one who pushed a boy off his bike. It's amazing to think that between them, they covered 8,000 miles. An amazing journey with some lovely scenery. Apparently a couple of them shed a tear or two this morning as they escorted their last few torch bearers.
Now the Olympics. *Yawn*. What's on the other channel?

I've found some of the ' bearers ' stories incredibly moving must admit Anne . . . am watching the opening ceremony right now. Love seeing the Red Arrows spectacular fly passes.

All a bit obscure, even with the commentary...

The saddest story for me, Perpy, was the young man who had both his legs and his left arm blown off by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan when it was detonated. But he still managed to walk part of the way holding the torch in his right hand.

I wept Anne . . . getting choked now, just thinking about that young man's courage and determination.

I have to say I'm impressed by the way they have made each seat in the stadium one pixel in a giant display.
The fireworks look quite good too.

I quite enjoyed the ceremony, in parts . . . thought the Olympic rings rising and the Cauldron were amazing!!! Fireworks were pretty spectacular as well. Other parts fell a bit flat for me, but probably if you were there it all gelled together better as I found it a bit disjointed? Switched off when Paul McCartney did his set . . . .
