You aren't causing trouble at all Ratfikz I think you do need to download the proboard app if using a mobile - www.proboards.com/mobile-forum-appFor anyone that already has the apps, there is an updated one, so might be a good idea to download the update.

I'm still trying to pin this problem down, but without a common denominator, I'm not getting anywhere If anyone else is experiencing the same problem, please let me know the browser & version you are using & whether you are browsing using a mobile, ipad or laptop/PC.

The Proboard app that I've put on my Nexus tablet, gives an option of where you'd like to be in a thread, when you open it up.
So I checked ' first unread ' and it worked perfectly . . .

I thought this was a new forum competition till I noticed the section it was in Occasionally When I click the new symbol it takes me to the first post of the thread, but that usually only happens if I haven't read the thread for a good while. Otherwise it pritty much behaves as it's meant to, even when I swap between laptop and phone. Doesn't seem to make any difference if I go through the new topics list or the forum view. Using ie 9 mostly. Did prefer the yellow "new" to the purple "new" symbol but thats cos it was easier to see the dark outline of the new symbol when I clicked the back button (where it highlights what u clicked last) to which topic I just read and which to read next. (hope that made sense lol)

Thanks Jemima Yes, older threads that you haven't read for some time will take you back to the first post due, I guess, to cookies expiring?

The site has decided to take me to the 1st post of every thread today, even if I only read it 10 minutes ago

Malibu, I've had to remove the code that takes you to last post read when clicking on the title as it wasn't compatible with firefox's latest updates.
However, if you click on the purple "new" icon, you should be taken to last post.

On the pc, you can just click the page number you want to go to underneath the thread title Proboards app, and I'm out of ideas.

I've found a fix for the jump to last post code. So folks can once again click on either the "new" icon, or the title thread & be taken to the last post they read.
