Enjoyed looking at all your photos so thought I'd have a go and put our two on. This is them aged 5 when we "adopted" them - "It's my bed. No it's not it's mine!" They are now 7 and this is a recent one.

Thanks Bel. They are Lhasa Apsos and came with daft names, but we thought that being 5 years old we had better not change them. They are brothers - the black one is Bam Bam and the blondie is Samson (I know, I know!)

I was going to ask for the names too, now I know why you withheld them Dear little souls, they are gorgeous! Thank you Dave! It's always exciting to see the Pet Pic thread with a yellow "New" beside it, and I was not disappointed scylla xx

thanks Scylla and Bel - yes they are cute and I guess like all animals have changed our lives. However, they are a breed that know their own minds. I found the following, which pretty much sums them up:
Property Laws of a Lhasa Apso
1. If I like it, It’s mine 2. If it’s in my mouth, It’s mine 3. If I had it a little while ago, It’s mine 4. If I can take it from you, It’s mine 5. If it’s mine, it must never appear to be yours 6. If it just looks like mine, It’s mine 7. If I saw it first, It’s mine 8. If it’s edible, It’s mine 9. If you have something, and put it down, It’s mine 10. If I chew something up, All the pieces are mine 11. If I get tired of it, It’s yours 12. If I want it back, It’s mine.

Lol what you've said is so true. I've found the same applies to children with a few amendments. 1, if I make it dirty, it yours 2, if you've got money, it's also mine 3, if I leave my dirty clothes on the floor, yours 4, if you do anything that doesn't include me, I've the right to know everything so therefore, mine You know what they say, never work with children or animals

Glad you all liked them. I've told them they are now internet stars but they seem unmoved and they definitely wouldn't describe themselves as cute - I was reading a guide to different breeds and the Lhasa section started, "They are small dogs, but nobody has told them...." You are right about the names Bel - I started off trying to combine calling them with coughing (anyone remember the old Morcambe and Wise Arsenal joke?) but I've got used to it now. It could be worse; one of the other dogs we regularly encounter on our walks is called Mr Snuffles

Only just had time to catch up with this thread Dave, they are both gorgeous And lol at their names, but I can more than understand why you felt, at that age, it would have been wrong to change them Many years ago when I was sharing a house with a male friend, I got 2 kittens & wanted to call the female Dory & the male Hunky My friend said that if I was ever away & he was left to look after them, there was no way he would be calling them in on a night So I called them Micky & Minnie Then many years later when Minnie succumbed to kidney disease I got another cat to keep Micky (& me) company, & called him Finn

Thanks Chrissie. When I looked through this thread I saw all your pics and especially your Maine Coons. I used to have one many years ago - wonderful animals. If I was sitting on the sofa he could stand on the floor with his paws on my shoulders; mind you he preferred it if I wasn't sitting on the sofa as he could stretch out on it himself and fill it end to end!
