Will you be driving, cycling, coaching, walking? How about the Lakes? (I was driven thru once, very early on a beautiful sunny morning, and fell in love with the scenery.) Hmm, could be rather wet, but then it could be wet any time of the year Cornwall? If you have a car and stay somewhere central, everywhere in the county is doable on a day-trip. Northern France? (By ferry?) I sailed there in a little boat and even the "ordinary" food was wonderful and different somehow. scylla |

The New Forest is quite pleasant Lisa, although it's many years since I've visited, but there's some lovely walks.
