Will you be driving, cycling, coaching, walking? How about the Lakes? (I was driven thru once, very early on a beautiful sunny morning, and fell in love with the scenery.) Hmm, could be rather wet, but then it could be wet any time of the year Cornwall? If you have a car and stay somewhere central, everywhere in the county is doable on a day-trip. Northern France? (By ferry?) I sailed there in a little boat and even the "ordinary" food was wonderful and different somehow. scylla

The New Forest is quite pleasant Lisa, although it's many years since I've visited, but there's some lovely walks.

Oh yes, and lots of wildlife Mind you, they spend weeks there to give us half an hour's film footage of horses and deers etc scylla
