I really think they're missing a major opportunity here. The fact they've got them into Tesco stores is amazing, but I'm pretty sure that Tesco aren't going to keep them in there if they're not selling. Any new product needs marketing, nothing just sells itself and bunging these on the shop counter is not selling them! I was really dismayed when the assistant said they should be on the pharmacy counter and not the cig counter, I would have thought the staff would have had at least minimal information about the product! Our Tesco's is a major store too

Firstly cut around 8 - 9 cm of your wick You will need a pin or needle, a pin may be easier has eventually you will need to remove it. Insert the pin inside the wick so that the pin is inside the wick centrally Pull the wick across the pin so that it is fairly stiff, you want to have it as straight as you can get it. Visually find the central point of the wick, then take your wire and hold it against it. Start to wrap the flat single thin wire around the wick You need to wrap this in tight coils which are close together but not actually touching each other, )this is why it's important to have the wick straight as on my first attempt the wick was wrinkled so when I put it in the ceramic and took the pin out the coils were touching.) you will end up with something that looks like this. Keep the pin in place as you'll need this to help get the coils inside the ceramic on your Iatty.

For a 2.5ohm coil (or there abouts) For a lower resistance make the thin (resistance wire) slightly shorter. The less coils the lower the resistance. Cut the thin wire 1 piece at 5cm Cut the thick wire 2 pieces at 10cm Take the thin wire and one piece of the thick wire and hold them so that the ends of the pieces are together. Take you finger nail to approximately 1cm along then hold them, twist the two 1cm pieces together quite tightly making sure that they are wrapped around each other. When you gently part the pieces you're holding onto you will have a piece that is twisted sticking up. Bend this twisted piece against the long thicker wire and wrap the thick wire around it to form a nice flat bulged piece along your thread. You will have a small loop where you've bent the twisted piece over Just flatten this out with your finger nails as much as you can and you should then end up with a single piece of wire that looks something like this now do the same with the other end. You'll end up with one single wire that looks something like this. There you've made your resistance Next I'll try and show how to make the coil.

I had a very interesting conversation at the ciggy counter in Tesco the other day. They've moved the ecig from the pharmacy to the cig counter, I said it was a much better idea. The woman on the till said they should be at the pharmacy bit as they are a giving up device. I explained that they're a healthier alternative and showed her my Provari with the Iatty on top LOL. She made a comment that it looked more like it should be an Ann Summers toy On a more serious side though, they've got staff that haven't got a damn clue what they're selling, this can only be a bad thing!

I've just done a few searches and it appears that a lot of modders use the silica wick. I've only found one negative where someone had mentioned the possibility of inhaling wick fibres, hardly going to be a problem in the Iatty! So looks like it's OK. I've gone for the 1/16" or 2mm, will see what they come back with

Someone on ECF says he gets good results with silica rope. I did a bit of searching and have found this place in the UK. No prices listed so we'd have to fire off an e mail. www.cheshireribbon.co.uk/products_03_d.aspAnyone willing to ask? I'm in the process of emailing them. I've also asked if it's safe to use as we will be inhaling the liquid, just want to be sure there's nothing in there that might be dangerous when it's in contact with the heated liquid. Will let you know as soon as I hear back from them, there again I might just give them a ring in the morning.

Ian I did put a link for O rings, you can buy a full box with most of the smaller ones for the GGTS for a couple of quid of eBay. I'll go dig out the link again

It's meant to go on the ceramic cup Ian, I couldn't get mine on either so gave up! I dug another O ring out from the cheap set that I bought, only problem is that they're slightly wider around the outside so I had to file it down! I can always post one to you when the wire arrives, but you will have to do something to make the outer circumference smaller

Ian I think there's 148 metres of one and 250 metres of the other on the rolls so should keep us all going for quite a while! LOL
