I used to love the X Factor and watch it every week live and get emotionally involved in it. Recent years it has just got ridiculous. We decided that we would not watch the live shows this year, but we do enjoy laughing at the auditions so would still watch those. However while they were going on I was blown away by Abbi and Sam B so had to watch the live shows until they went out...every week I liked Sam, more and more and honestly feel that this year it was absolutely a talent show (although I agree Luke should have made the final).

Sam is not the typical pop star of today, she isn't young, isn't `sexy` and is far from the best looking contestant. Throughout the show she had few gimmicks but would stand on stage and belt out songs so beautifully, she sent shivers down my spine. I actually voted for her this year (the last person on a show like this I voted for was Gareth Gates) and burst into tears when she won as it clearly meant so much to her.

Despite all that in the cold light of day I almost wish she had come second or third and allowed to progress her career without being forced into a mould she clearly does not belong in, I am very worried that with her needing to conform to a mould as versatile as she is, it will be too processed and not successful, she needs space to be organic

Thanks everybody =) no need to apologise for forgetting, I have been busy and then unwell also so am only just seeing it!! Hope you are feeling better Dolly! Was a good, but quiet day. Chris's main present to me was petrol lol -we went to the NEES meet via a friend in Derbyshire and home via the same friend, I paid for a hotel on the Saturday night and Chris kindly agreed to cover petrol for me. He also bought me a box of chocolates from Hotel Chocolate and bought and cooked a three course meal for me =) best of anything though was the birthday card "to my wife"...

Sunday we are going to have dinner with my dad and next weekend my mother in law is visiting so I will get those presents then. My mum bought me a beautiful Pandora charm for my bracelet which is so detailed. It is a bride and groom, and I love it!! We were going to go to the cinema tomorrow as celebration but as I am not well and we are going to my dad's on Sun we have postponed for a few weeks.

Re hang over...I very very rarely drink and didn't on the day (it worries me with the amount of medication I am on.) So head was fine =D bonus!!

A penguin was driving his ice cream van in Antartica when all of a sudden *shudder, splutter crash bang* the van stops working. He called the polar bear mechanic to come and have a look at it, and was told as the mechanic was very busy he would be there in approximately 3 hours. As he waits in the middle of nowhere he gets hungrier and hungrier. Eventually when the mechanic arrives he gets out to greet him, and realises he has plenty of food in the back of his van. 20minutes later the mechanic knocks on his window. As the penguin unwinds it the polar bear says "well, it looks like you've blown a seal son" the penguin turns red with embarrassment and says, while hastily rubbing his face "no, no I haven't, it's just ice cream
