Hmmmm.... Is it too early to say that I have been in communication with them and Capella are happy for me to sell their concentrates in the UK…
I will more than likely (subject to final pricing agreement) be stocking some (to begin with) of their flavours early in the New Year.

Mybad.... Menthyl Methyl Lactate is used specifically to give that "cold" feeling at the back of the mouth. It does not really have a 'taste', but it can be used in conjunction with menthol, fruits, creams, etc. I am sourcing UK suppliers but price / quantities are restrictive (I do not need 25 Gallons). Many China chemical companies selling it, but I am very hesitant about using China sites. Depending on how much you need, you may be able to obtain it from the USA www.parchem.com/default.aspxMenthyl Methyl Lactate, CAS# :108766-16-1 Synonym (5-methyl-2-propan-2-ylcyclohexyl) 3-hydroxybutanoate Formula C14H26O3 Appearence colorless clear liquid Assay 95.00 to 100.00 % Specific gravity 0.97200 to 0.98500 @ 25.00 °C Pounds/Gallon 8.088 to 8.196 Refractive Index 1.45400 to 1.46400 @ 20.00 °C Boiling Point 95.00 to 97.00 °C. @ 0.50 mm Hg Flash Point 270.00 °F. Acetic Acid, (Distilled White Vinegar) has been used by many “main stream” E-Liquid manufactures for a number of years (and the tobacco industry before them), as has Malic Acid.
It is used mainly to smooth out Tobacco flavors, especially when blending but mostly on Tobacco Absolutes or Extracts. It is an accepted method and use.
Lemon Juice is used more with fruit flavours, as it makes the fruit flavour pop.
Malic Acid is a common E-Liquid component, and is used to “sour” or make a juice more “tart”.
All the above will also help fix a flavour, making it more stable and resistant to change or further development, they do this by increasing the acid content of the mixed juice, (changing the ph level). However, looking at the evidence from trials, if you increase the acid content (lower the ph) then you are effectively also lowering your nic %age strength.
It appears that a ph of 8.3-8.6 is optimal, but of course the increased base (alkali) increased TH, but also increases nic absorption. A difference of 1 ph can dramatically decrease nic absorption, hence to remain at your target strength, when you add acid, you will need to increase the nic %, but that raises the TH again.
There has been a lot of Vape based trials and testing carried out already by VERY experienced vapers, a search of some other forums will provide some very long and informative threads on the subject.
However, for the inexperienced DIYer, I stress caution and advise research undertaken before considering it, to fully understand the How, Why, Where, and How Much, to use.

Could someone please point me in the right direction. Im looking for a basic vc recipe. Then i can tinker a bit. Thats the thing......... It is all in the tinkering, and fine tuning when you get the basic recipe right, adding just 0.1% of something can make something extra lush or plain yuck! But you will only find out by tinkering. The trick is.... knowing when to stop (and keeping notes)! Enjoy!

Well that depends on what your version of safe is............
At the risk of repeating the information that has tried to be imparted, in a number of threads....
There is no safe or unsafe list, to date, there has not been enough study or trials done on products to say what is safe and what is not. Those trials can take years (if they ever happen).... Vaping is new. There will be no safe / unsafe list for some time… other than maybe a list that is based on unfounded rumour or personal opinion, hardly factual or scientific.
So you see, you (but not just you) are asking the impossible. The risk is that someone, somewhere says (without any scientific founding) and this is just an example,” Ethyl Alcohol is bad to vape” the risk is that people then take it as gospel and believe it. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t, we don’t have the required proof to be able to give an answer.
Most manufacturers don't even put what is in, or been used to extract a flavour or make a product, and currently there is no regulation to make them (with regard to vaping) as the majority of flavourings are food based and they are tested under that criteria. I think most people would be surprised at how may solvents like Ethyl Alcohol are used to extract flavours, whatever the make.
So, we each must make up our own minds on what we want to vape or not, or even if we want to vape or not…. with so little “Factual” information to assist us, it is difficult. But, that is where we are at, at this point in time! We are flying without a manual, without a certificate of air worthiness, without the luxury and experience of hindsight, and without a parachute!

And I have used Christmas Cake, Coconut, Ginger, Lemon, Lime, Liquorice, Orange & Rose, all without problems also.
A flavour does not have to be 100% MPG to make it suitable to vape. Alison is an employee of CCW, Not a vaper, or a scientist, nor a trchnical person, I think she was trying to be helpful and perhaphs clouded the waters a bit.

Ciar,
You would be better opening your own thread in the "wanteds", you will get more response I am sure. This one is for Ellen's Raspberry Dodge (and extreeme uses and exploits of Turkey Basters).
