Right............. I was very impressed with all the wood floating about last night..... some fantastic looking pipes. I have decided to take the plunge, but seeing the claw in "real life" has inspired me to have a go myself.... I have found a blank and will start carving when it's delivered.....

I think I am going to post the first AGA-T casualty report……… After 1 tankful and about 6Hrs of use, I have found the limitations of the polycarbonate tank. It is very thick and I was hoping it would stand up to an aggressive Pear juice with a fair bit of koolada in the mix. So I am not too surprised, it was an experiment and I have spares. Pic of one cracked tank below…. Pic is not that clear as I had to use flash, but about 12 vertical cracks all around the tank, not all the way through yet, but will be by morning. So, Glass tanks or SS Tanks are on the shopping list now, as this is a good bit of kit.

I posted this in the delivery thread, but I think it would be better here....
OK.....
First impressions… As I said in my other post, the air holes are out, by as much as 180 deg, but as I have three I decided to swap the caps about to see if I could get better positioning… Yep, two are now spot on with the wick hole and the other is about 20 dg off. I can live with that for now. Finish good, quality of build good, threads good, tank is very thick (I like that). “O” rings are good, spares good.
I observed a little play in the centre post floating up and down (allows for different fitting tolerances). I used the extra centre post nut as well to connect the coil two between the top two nuts, allows for variation in height of the coil.
So, I rolled a wick from the 500 grade, oxidised it and fitted to the tank, good snug fit to the wick hole. Nice SS mesh! Rolls well, very fine, sucks up the juice well.
I decided to throw the little bit of wire that it came with and used some stock 0.20 ohm Kanthal, wrapped a 5/4 coil around ait and measured it in at 1.7 ohms. Good enough for me.
I used the screw nearest the wick hole as the ground for the coil, and had to bend the wick (more of a lean really) towards the centre post to reduce the gap.
Dry burn, all looked good, no hotspots…. Filled the tank up with some “Auntie Floe’s Pear Drops” as I wanted to also check out the Polycarb for cracks.
All looked good, no leaks, no cracks, so I fired her up………. She breaths…….. very well actually…….. put the cap on, fitted a nice chrome drip tip and…………………………………………
MMmmmmmmmmm, a little smog generator …
Yes, I am very happy.
Thanks Perps, Macca, etal.

Hi All, Please can Ethol Maltol be replaced by Stev as a sweetner & what is the differance? Thanks. Hi John, Ethyl Maltol is sweet and has a "Cotton Candy" flavour, Stevia is sweet and has very little other flavour. I think you could use Stevia to replace Ethyl Maltol without a problem (but it wouldnt have that "Cotton Candy" type flavour, just sweet). The other way, using Ethyl Maltol in place of Stevia, will sweeten, but will also add a "Cotten Candy" taste. (depending on strength and ammount used). See you tomorrow, got your message re bottles OK.

Hi Hifistud,
I agree a full Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry report would be ideal and very nice to have, as it would from any manufacturer of flavourings.
I will ask him if they would consider having one done (if they don't have it already), but thinking outloud here, it may be cost prohibative if it is surplus to their requirement for their normal market.... Not sure without asking.
One thing I will say..... They have been very transparent and helpful, I have had a lot more information from them than any other flavour house I have spoken with (so far).
