Ballsy,
Did you buy it from me? If so it is a 60PG/40VG mix. That should be fine on a CE4, but try a different atty if you have one. As Gordy says it sounds tho it is not wicking properly.

Hi Pam O, There is a sticky in the Mixology thread that shows you how to do it…. You will also find that the “concentrate Menthol crystal solution” has a saturation point, that is, the liquid (PG, VG, Vodka, etc,) cannot absorb any more Menthol. (I have not measured it exactly, but, I have found it to be around 20% crystal to 80% liquid). You may temporarily be able to dissolve the crystals past the saturation point by heating, but when the liquid cools back to room temperature the crystals start to reform. That’s when you know you have the strongest solution possible. Trust me….. that is strong…. Adding just 2 or three drops of this super concentrated solution in a 10ml bottle of “mixed juice” will rock you!

I use long (full length) cotton wicks 2mm in my Nova's, you can obtain first class cotton wick material from the link below. It is very cheap 10mtrs @ £1.35 postage free, it is also untreated, unwaxed, no need to pre-boil. It wicks very well. cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290657103551I also use 0.212 Nic Chrome or 0.20 Kanthal A…. coiled lose at 5/6 wraps, both are available from here. www.wires.co.uk/acatalog/e-cig_iatty_atomizer_wire.html#aKLA_2d0200_2d010The difference after a rebuild is like night and day…. Flavours pop out, and the quantity of vapour is better and thicker, you also use less voltage as the Kanthal coils ohm out at about 1.9 You have to remember that you can’t dry burn with cotton, so keep the coil wet. Wet the top of the coil with a couple of drops of juice on first build and then fill the tank, let it sit for a min or two to ensure wicking is soaked, then vape away.

Yes Dave, I think it has developed into a very interesting thread, and a good resource for anybody starting out into mixing.
Many topics are covered; sources for products given, tips and tricks divulged, and even recipes shared for anyone to try… help and advice is freely given to those that want it (and sometimes those that don’t). I think it has credibility!
It has a lot of life left in it yet....
Oh, and the mods do a good job as well!

Question for frogster: Why predominantly VG and not PG. PG is supposed to carry flavour better than VG? Macca, There are many different methods, using all sorts of things, some work better than others, some more aggressive than others, some more dangerous than others. Vegetable glycerine is a popular tried and tested ingredient used to make non-alcohol extractions, it is a known glycerite, it has been used safely by herbalists for years to make all sorts of “herbal tinctures”. It has the ability to gently break down the plant cell walls and extract the true flavour, extractions that use glycerine have a long shelf life 3 to 5 years if stored in a cool, dark cupboard. It is well suited to tobaccos as it has a sweet taste and can make the sometimes bitter tobacco more palatable, without the need of other added sweeteners or chemicals! Although glycerine doesn't have the extraction power that alcohol does, it still does a fantastic job, carries tobacco flavour well and results in a highly effective product, especially for those who prefer a non-alcohol based products, and without using aggressive solvents. The method I use is gentle, safe tried and tested, it is my preference, also, I find I get the results from it that I am looking for. I have tried some of the other methods, and used other substances as solvents, including PG, but I find I get the best results from my advertised method... In a nut shell, that’s why I use it….

Have you tried these for filtering: Lab Filter Paper5ml per hour filtering rate but reported not to gunk up coils too much.. Macca, my last extraction was 1 Ltr of the stuff.... if you could just leave it to drip through it would be good, but I expect the filter paper to need changing every so often.... Long Job!! But, In the interest of science, I will get some and give it a go. Thanks...

Moon, Do you usr Nicotine in VG or Nicotine in PG? What are you using for an atty? SS or fibre wicks? Tanks or dripping? % of flavours used and if they are PG or VG
From what I remember, the Boots VG is very Thick (or used to be)... You want to aim to end up with a juice that is about the same as the consistancy of raw PG.... or just a tad thicker (every one has different preferences, but thats how I like it anyway)... I find it is good to wick, but still sticks to the sides of the tank, coils, etc, a little.
There is no one answer, it will depend on a number of the above and other factors, as to how much and with what you dilute.
