Okay so the oc coil has bedded in and now it's absolutely fine. No dryness. No harshness.
I also swapped it from the 40w istick to the smok m80.
What madness is this?
How can something be too harsh on a 1.4ohm coil at 16 watts but not on a 0.5 (it's reading as 0.6) ohm coil at 23 watts.

Stop it!! I do not need an iSub G.....I do not need an iSub G....... I've over spent loads this month, O really don't need one....do I hahah Are you really, quite quite sure Jerri . . . . . . Yes, absolutely.......until next month hahaha Just tried the OC coil. No luck with that either. It's fine on the inhale lovely flavour, like pear and black current jelly babies (ace of vapes yoda babies) then on the exhale it tears at my throat and feels really dry. And after a few vapes it just makes me cough. Strangely though it's less harsh on the 0.5ohm oc coil at 25w than it is on my own home made 1.4ohm coil at 16 watts. Could it be the wicking material? I use rayon. Would trying cotton help or am I really clutching at straws here? Are the OC heads okay to just rinse and leave to dry? The plan was to keep them for if I was in a rush or couldn't be bothered one day.

I actually contemplated buying the iSub but I've just moved over to rebuilding so don't fancy going back to buying coils. I've got the 40w istick haha. That's close enough. I was jesting, as you know, but.....different mods give different ohms readings, so they will supply different tastes. This is caused by them reading x ohms and supplying power for that, rather than what you are used to. Even two identical mods may read differently, it's an issue that you need to adapt to. 20w on one mod will be different to 20w on another if it reads the ohms different (sometimes, even if ohms are the same). It will give you different power. The same happens with tanks, but to a lesser degree, as there is resistance in the tank/dripper itself. You may just need to turn down the watts a bit to get a smoother vape. I did try dropping the watts down to 12 when vapour basically completely dropped off. Maybe I've packed too much wick in? I'll give the oc coils a a go later and see how that goes.

i dont know anything, but suspect if you have a sensitivity to PG even 95% VG juice may have enough PG to aggravate you??
and if you can develop a sensitivity to PG after using it happily before?? i dunno that either??
perhaps try some 100%vg juice if you can, you can get 100% VG based concentrate, chefs vapour perhaps?? if no one chips in with it i have a bottle of VG concentrate in the cupboard i bought in a bundle off the classifieds in here,, and I will dig it out for the makers.. OK SCRUB ALL THAT IF YOUR VAPING 50/50 CUSTARD HAPPILY.... I will get me coat.. Yeah 50/50 is my go to ratio. I started on that and whilst I don't mind 70/30 etc I generally stick to 50/50

i had tried a custard doughnut also from isle of custard isleofcustard.com/epages/950018379.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/950018379/Categories/%22Custard%20E-liquids%22i actually bought 7 different ones from them and the doughnut did stand out from the rest but its still in the dark cupboard with about 20 other bottles as im just hooked on 3 ADV of devilicious custard then grants vanilla custard then strawberry fields which i rotate. must try not to buy 100ml at a time as never have time for all the other juice i have. forgot to mention. i always get 50/50 mix as its what i started with and couldnt be botered to try other variations of pg/vg Thanks! That's the one I've got my eye on. I've just got to the last few ml of a 100ml bottle of their cutlass custard. I got it to try a different custard to my usual daredevils and whilst irbid nice it's not 'better' and not worth the extra £10 the 100ml costs. I have daredevils and spectrums custard cream in rotation. Will be ordering a bottle of the custard doughnut to put in the steep draw for when this 100ml of daredevils custard runs out. Really want a fruity liquid to put in the mix but after almost three years I doubt it'll ever happen!

I generally like custard flavours, and can sometimes find that a vape when just about awake with my morning cuppa, can feel like sand paper, but a bit later on when getting used to it, is nice and smooth and tastes as it should. I also found (to my dismay) that I loaded up my iSub pc tank with the same juice in my Atlantis2, both with .5 ohm coils, and it tasted harsh, but the Atlantis2 was fine. I haven't tried it again, because I have just about run out of my Custard Donut juice (80/20PG/VG), and just keep to the Atlantis2 until I run out. Perhaps I am just a bit weird... I am too o reckon. I've been vaping almost three years and have never found a fruit vape that wasn't too harsh. I gave up buying them to try but was in a shop with my friend and these liquids were just gorgeous. Was made up thinking I'd finally found a fruity vape! Mind if I ask which custard doughnut you're vaping? After one of those myself.

I do find my isub is a smoother vape than my subtank. But I also use 70vg juice so that may contribute to the smoothness too Really? It is strange how juice always taste different in different tanks. One of the liquids is 80/20 VG so it can't be the pg. I thought I'd be okay because it was a sub ohm type tank. I'm disappointed because the flavours are really lovely.

then its something to do with the tank then. normally people say 3-6mg is fine and bearable for sub ohming but anything higher would be a throat killer. ive never used a isub g tank before so cant compare but for the last 4 months im having custard at 3mg in subtank mini and tried both 0.5 and 1.2 coils and its smooth as custard. have you got any OCC pre made coils that you could try to see if its any better. i vary wattage between 15-22watts. I do have the oc coils that came with the tank. I've not used them yet. To be honest though I don't see how an OC coil at 1.2 would be vastly different to my own coils at 1.4ohms. And surely the 0.5 head would make it even harsher? I'm annoyed to be honest. I've left myself short on juice because I just assumed because I'd loved them in the shop that I'd enjoy them at home. I think I'm just going to throw them in the classies. I'm not the most patient of vapers and don't fancy wasting yet more time and eliquid trying to find a way to vape them without felling like my throat is being ripped out.

I would say perhaps it's something in the flavourings that just doesn't agree with your throat Jerri . . . . although if you've bought exactly the ones you tried in the shop without problems, then what equipment did you use there for testing? They were in an isub g tank. 0.5ohms. On an is tick 50w at 25 watts. I put them in a subtank mini with a 1.4ohms home made coil at 16watts.

As in the title really.
I mostly vape custard. 50/50 3mg.
I'm always looking for a fruity vape but they are without fail too harsh on my throat.
So last week I tried some in a shop. Loved them. Got home and ordered some.
They're pre steeped. One is 50/50 3mg one is 80/20 3mg. Low and behold they're far too harsh on my throat.
Now it's not like I tried them in a little tank and my tanks are much better. They were in an isub g at 0.5 ohms.
I build my own coils at 1.4ohms in a subtank mini.
I'm really annoyed because I've just wasted almost £40 on juice I can't vape.
So why is it everything besides custard feels like it's ripping my throat out? Even if I use the same nic content and ratios etc.

There's a thread over on UKV and it seems a lot of people are having issues with the temp control aide of it.
I have one and if you were just after a small mod it's perfect but I'd be wary of the temp control side.
