These and a mini provari (or something similar) will be my last big purchases for a goodly while. It'll be a hit initially, but maintenance costs of cheaper options adds up and actually makes them not so cheap. Getting a bit excited now! You wouldn't have to buy too many of the latest crop of clearos before you've spent more than the cost of a Spheroid, i reckon they're good value.

Hi Purkle
This may not be what you want to hear but considering this Mod has possibly fried 2 batteries i'd be inclined to put it away & look for something else, hope this doesn't offend.
raid2506 a member here on AAEC is good with Mod Repairs, maybe he wouldn't mind taking a look at it for you & at least be able to tell you if it's safe to use.

Hiya 300, yep that's the exact one. I had read that conversation on Fasttech before but didn't really have a clue what they were on about!! Makes a wee bit more sense now; the pin does have a spring, in between the pin head and the insulating black ring. So if you hold it by the black ring you can push the pin up & down, but that doesn't stop the whole pin part (black ring included) falling out. However it is firmly held in horizontally, it can't move that way, it's just if there's no battery in it can fall down into the tube. When a battery is in & it's all set up, there's nowhere the pin can go really. It seems like it probably is connecting with just the +ve atty pin, so still I don't have a clue.. This is the mystery of the month, this is!! Mega thanks to everyone PS: the spring loaded pin doesn't seem to have much of a function being springy... PS 2: there's no spring in anywhere with the battery, is that an issue? Ahh, i see what you mean, it's the whole insulator assembly that's loose. I don't really know the device you have so prolly not the best idea to give you advice based on guesswork, might be worth listing the name of the Mod in your title, maybe another member here with the same Mod will spot it & give you better advice.

Hi Purkle Just done a quick search for your Mod, apologies in advance if it's an original but it looks like a clone so also searched on Fasttech, there's a discussion about it here.... www.fasttech.com/forums/1425200/t/1019331/floating-510-pin see post #8 If it is the one from Fasttech they seem to suggest the pin in your top cap should be spring loaded & shouldn't just fall out, if your spring is missing from the firing pin it may not be central which could cause a short. A couple of small O-rings on your firing pin may be a solution, similar to the EA Mod's sliding pin but have no idea what size you would need. Of course, if it's not the same Mod then all of the above is gibberish, good luck.

Want to trade an Aqua Clear Tank. Ordered from the States but didn't arrive 'till after i'd already traded the Aqua so tank is unused, don't think i've seen these available in the UK, but could be wrong. Library Pictures, not my own. Would like a Taifun GT XS Tank Kit, obviously with a cash top up from my end.

They work very well, i used to use one for work, the mouthpiece is very narrow though & cold for outdoors in winter so now use a Spheroid that i can use any 510 driptip with. Always carry the A7 in the van though for backup, just in case.
Gus mods also do a Spheroid of their own for about £45 + post.

300 - you were right, I got a bargain! markscuba - thank you. Arrived today, VERY securely packed (scissors and swear words), the Kir Fanis tube is gorgeous and manages to telescope elegantly although it is truly stunning in 18350 mode. It has to be noted that Mark threw in a sample of his very own vanilla custard which smells awesome. Custard has never appealed to me but I'm going to give this one a try based on smell alone. I'm glad you're happy with it loobiebloo, i used to have one of these, the only reason i wanted it was so i could get mine back off the Wife!!

Not sure if it qualifies as a box mod, but comes in three sizes, looks lovely, works great, nice to hold. I have a couple, including this custom one: The Touchwood. The Touchwood is lovely, feels great in the hand, i love mine. Reminds me of an old Ronson lighter my Dad used to have when we were kids.

If money was no object & they were actually available then the wapari w-box would be my choice right now. ( pic here vape.rollr.com/posts/wboxes )
