jevans and padiho- there is a difference between 'mouth to lung' and 'direct lung hit'. If you remember back to those dark days when you were still smoking tobacco, I am guessing that, like many of us, you would take a mouthful of smoke and then inhale it down into your lungs when your mouth was full.
When you started vaping you probably continued with that process, as indeed I did.
A 'direct lung hit' (DLH) is different in that you keep your throat open, and inhale the vapour straight down into your lungs in one motion rather than 'storing' it in your mouth first. Imagine a whistle in reverse; purse your lips with your vapouriser in them, and as you press the button, keep a small gap around the driptip and inhale deeply, drawing down a mixture of vapour and air and filling your lungs with the mixture.
Be careful as you do this the first few times as the vapour will undoubtedly make you cough until you get used to the process, and can control the mixture of vapour and air more easily.
As the nicotine is delivered straight to your lungs, you will find that you will need to lower your levels or risk overdosing temporarily.
