It does but it's Big Pharma that funds most research in health. Why would they want to fund conclusive studies into a competing product that might show it in a favourable light?

The study was crippled.1 carto a day on a cigalike was all they were allowed and the study has been done over two years I believe so E-cigs were nothing like as good as they are now. I'm well aware of that. But in the light of anti vaping campaign in mainstream media and of many gov/health officials, every write up like this article feels like enlightenment. Lets hope they finally do a study on proper/advanced devices. I doubt Big Pharma would fund that The main problem is there are so many variables with vaping, proper scientific study is nigh on impossible so all the evidence is anecdotal using the full range of devices, juices and user settings. No scientist/ researcher/ doctor can publish anecdotal evidence unless they want to be a laughing stock with their peers. So we are stuck with diluted and watered down studies that cripple the main advantage of E-cigs, the fact that vaping can be all things to all people.

Comments have started appearing on the BBC link. Not mine yet but I'm hopeful.

I did manage to give up once on patches for two years. It's was a miserable few months on patches to "cure" my addiction - it was more the girlfriend at the time threatening to leave me if I smoked than the patches that broke the habit. Once I kicked her out for cheating on me two years later the first thing I did was went out to buy a packet of Embassy #1 to celebrate being out of an abusive relationship. That was 12 years ago and I smoked up until I took up vaping last year.

I thought I'd cut down with E-cigs and two days later I was vaping full time. Then I ran out of cartos after two days (that's when I found out about the one carto being like 40 smokes lie.) I ordered a Riva kit and smoked for the two days till it arrived. Since then I've been a vaper. I had a couple of smokes a month or so later but they tasted horrible and even though I was drunk I went back to my e-cig that night and haven't touched one since.
Still get the urge occasionally when at home, my wife smokes and sometimes old cravings kick in but I vape through it.

For me, can't talk for others. I've got a big phone that is a bit too big to drag out of a pocket and use one handed but it's great for multimedia. A smartwatch gives access to all of my phones features via bluetooth on my wrist. Apart from that I just think they are cool toys ;-) Sent from my GT-N7100 using proboards So as a phone, your phone is a bit of a failure? My company phone is about to be replaced and went to look at the options. My current one (HTC Desire S) isn't what I would call tiny, but we're switching to Galaxy something or others (the new one) and they are monstrous. I've decided to keep my old one for a while, as I have delicate girly hands and will probably dislocate my thumb. Why would anyone buy a smartphone when all they want is a phone?

The fact that someone has to ask on a vaping forum if inhaling nicotine is dangerous shows the damage that the hatchet jobs in the media (Daily Fail etc) have caused.

The other option is the Evic. Allows you to easily change any setting you could ever want, vapes great with OLED screen, VV, VW, stas import to PC and user profiles with massively adjustable settings across a 10 second vape. Also has a built in alarm, calender and clock (but they stop when you take the battery out... booo) USB rechargeable as well as 18650s unlike the SVD. Excellent piece of kit.
Not cheap as a whole unit anymore but can be bought as just the control head and put onto whatever battery tube you want.

Yes but Dry cleaners!?
I see a few problems with this: 1. Poor dry cleaners, what did they ever do to deserve this, are they out of work now, should we compensate them for the anti-smoking legislation that inadvertently destroyed their businesses? 2. Anti smoking legislation to destroy the Tobacco industry seems to have missed it's mark somewhat. 3. ASH aren't very good at this propaganda thing are they.

When this popped up in Twitter I wasn't sure if I should laugh or cry. Maybe they've been hacked? Either that or they are so deluded that they've gone mad.

These mpv2s, they suffer from the same problem as the mpv1 in that nothing looks good on them. Also they have raised the button so that it sits proud of the device and Ihave to say that I prefer the previous button, I found it much more comfortable to use. That out of the way This is a great improvement in functionality, it feels as solid as the mk1 because it is as solid as the mk1 VW turns this into a device that I'll use much more than than its predecessor which I only used when I was out for long periods and required a decent battery life. I'm sitting here at work with an Ithaka full of cocomel on this mpv2 safe in the knowledge that I'll neither run out of juice or power and at 8w it'll provide a perfect vape every time. Well worth a punt if anyone is umming and erring I'm starting to like the button on the 2. Harder to press than the Mk1 but that can be a good thing, the Mk1 was hard to find the button when driving/in the dark and quite often I was accidently turning it on and off which I haven't done so far with the two. Battery life though... oh my... I love the MVPs 230 puffs and still at 4.0v where it's been since I bought it last night at 20.30

The wobble on the mk1 is easily remedied, just push in the on/off switch an little. Did both of mine and they are wobble free You are a genius! lol The button is harder to push in on the 2, I guess it's not had 9 months of being sat on it's bum to help loosen it like my Mk1 has.
