Your diagram will work as it shows two batteries wired in parallel, giving the same voltage as one battery but twice the mAh. However, in the text just below it, you say the diagram shows batteries wired in series. It's also important to use only matched pairs of batteries.

Wiring in series will blow the atty unless you use a VHV atty. Also, go higher than needed in the LED resistor to eliminate the chance of a voltage spike that will blow the bulb. LED's aren't usually that fussy when it comes to voltage, providing you have an appropriate resistor fitted.

As for the atty, it isn't polarity specific so it doesn't really matter whether you wire the + to the inside or the outside sleeve. However, the generally accepted way is + to the inside.

Have a look here at my Goliath... 2 x 18650 wired in parallel. IMHO, two 18650 wired in parallel, end on end, will be way too long.

It's the bit that you screw the atomiser to hun. Each different e-cig uses a particular type of screw fitting and these have different numbers to identify them. The two most common types are known as 510 (screw thread on the atty sticks out), 901 (screw thread on the atty goes in).

There are other types too (401, 402 etc., 801, 808) but I won't go in to them unless you want me too.

I have only made two of these, with no intention of making any more due to the cost of the case to hold the batts. As it is, one is already sold (bet you can't guess who to?) and the other one is available. It can go for £20 + P&P (£2) if you're interested (you have first refusal).
