I'm just off to the post office to return an unwanted gift my OH bought me for xmas, UK company but returns policy was 2 weeks to return from reciept, we emailed them within that time, week and half later got reply that we were out of time, sent email pointing out we were in time, their reply delayed it, so today it's going back with a return number, 2 weeks over christmas period, come on, lucky it did not arrive until christmas eve. At least I not got to get into court battle stating distance selling etc. If you want to know it was groupon who just act as middle man to a supplier.

Reply within 12 hours, offering me refund, no talk of returning. Good service, they got my business for the future. Pity others would not learn from this MP

I had problem with FT with a 40w TC Istick, it would not hold charge, after couple of weeks of the delayed emails back and forwards they agreed to pay for it's return, all went well and I have replacement sitting here now, all credit to them did not expect that.
I got usual weekly delivery from them last week, included was a carto tank, $5 so you know it's going to be crap, but anyway this thing was awlful, full of metal swarth, cleaned it out, stuck in ultrasonic cleaner, on reassembly large piece of plastic broke off end, so decided to send email to customer services, stating above but saying credit if possible not got camera for close up pics, if not write off as faulty item no bad feeling to FT, it's not worth time or energy to get involved with return on £3 item.
So I await their reply, I expect positive as I have never had any bad dealings with them.
I'll keep you informed if interested, guess most wont be lol.

I charge also on a tiled floor in my kitchen, I walk one way I'm in the garden, I walk the other I pass a smoke alarm, I go to sleep next to my bed side cabinet I pass another smoke alarm. I never charge overnight while I have my children over, even when alone I'm not that stupid to charge a cheap Chinese device by my face while I sleep.... Edit, This link under the article is much more interesting..... That link was crap, no pictures of me, and i was a celeb (once), as for underwear ...................leave it to your imagination. MP

Just for the records, I had a telephone stand built in my hall and incorporated a USB charging station (for when I had a smartphone), this I use when at home, but my Nitecore charger stands in the kitchen in a tiled area by the toaster, so nothing flammable, just for the odd times I go out and forget bats are charging (which is often with a brain like mine lol).

Cant add a lot to this, as all above sensible, only thing I did not know was taking attie off before charging, never done that, or read the instructions lol. It's not just our devices, well documented Sony laptops frying, and even Boeing Dreamliners having same problem, I never charge unattented apart from my tablet, have to think twice about that now, but how the hell do you charge when using it all waking hours, bit of a conundrum there !!!

mart166 I know what you mean about the quality of kit from the likes of Lidl i bought something called "electro grill" from one 13 years ago variable hotplats that can be swapped over to give either flat hotplates or gridle style, not much good as a toastie maker but excellent for crépes or high fat meat cooking, honestly we used it all the time for the first 5 years but rarely get it out of the cupboard more than twice a year now..... of course i have also bought lots of other relectrical goods from lidl's and aldi in the past and most of them outlast similar priced gear fro mother vendors on the other hand their stores are often difficult to get to now that i don't drive so i rarely get to go there and consequently have to get a friend to take me once every few months for my quarterly fix of frikadeln (I used to eat one every morning off the bratty wagon) or a few jars of bockworst..... if only they did online delivery, although apperntly the local store is looking into making that happen, hopefully they will do a similar no frills service to the one Iceland already provides. LOL, we had local walking distance Lidl for last 10 years at least, I used it all the time, cleaning stuff and electrical great, but I used to be only customer, straight to tills no problem, now local one and other 10 minutes drive away like hell, everyone doing weekly shop, trolleys like WW3 broken out !!! I do not buy much food, but Saurkraut ok, not good, Neurenburg sausages great and also Bavarian Ham fry it a little makes it better. And if you into pickling they do a Balsamic vinegar, useless on salads but brilliant for picking onions, £1 for half litre, everyone compliments my onions lol. PS I dont work for them, but in food business they are our rivals, hate them but still shop there lol. MP

the last time I bought a toaster from Sainsbury's the electronics inside it detonated 30 seconds after it was first switched on..... luckily it was facing the wall and all that got damaged was a plastic chopping board and my ears were ringing for half an hour scared the crap outta me but I rang them up after disconnecting it and resetting the trip switches, I rang up Sainsbury's to complain and they had one of their dimwits unbox one and plug it in dunno what store it was but that was another loud bang and lots of people rather upset the lights had gone out they pulled it off the market and gave me back my money + a sorry about that £50 voucher for the store ..... that was about 5 years ago though it was bloody funny them killing the store's main cct breaker, just lucky they had their network on a separate supply ...... See go to Asda, s**t stores but better products, and if you want quality go to Lidl, you may laugh but their electrical gear is good (I back this up by saying I bought an electric tool I of course did not need, cost £12, two years later got £25 for it in an auction). I cannot read all of article, but can only relate to the 2 years I spent there, the attitudes were very relaxed, I was a smoker at the time, and the smoking ban came in, the attitude was when asked if have to go outside to smoke, for 100 years you could smoke in here, why change now, I know now as a vapour that was wrong, but it was very nice as a smoker at the time to have freedom of choice.

I like the long toasters that fit 2 slices side by side, works better on my narrow worktop than those big square things, I had a brilliant one, bought in Asda for £20, but it died, since then my OH has bought a well known brand one, about as usefull as a choclate fire guard, so my search goes on for a nice long one !!!!!

Looks like one of those fuses that goes in cars, hope it'll be easier to replace though (and if it is a fuse, poundlands your place, dont need warranty lol).
