Of course you are correct. But terrorism is terrorism. I get that the game has changed of late, and some of the terrorism that is happening just now is obviously much worse than what was happening then, but the severity of the action does not make up for the taking the action in the first place. I'm not saying that he wasn't, eventually, a good person. Just saying he's not the ultimate role model that he seems to be portrayed as today, as many people appear to forget WHY he was imprisoned. And I beg to differ. You totally don't get it. Maybe he was a terrorist, but the reason he became one of the biggest positive role models ever to have lived, was the fact he learnt decency, morals and ethics through time, and genuinely lived by these attributes in his darkest hours and later on when released, which enabled him to change an entire country's disgusting behaviour. Whether right or wrong, he didn't want anyone punished or treated wrongly, even though these same people locked him away for most of his life at that point. He preached forgiveness, kindness and equality, and that is the ethics and morality I spoke of. All of us when young, have done things we should be ashamed of. If you say you haven't you are a liar. The difference for Nelson Mandela was, his choices were made at a time where he, his family and all of his race were living under the most awful constraints and living conditions. When you take into account the things the whites were doing to his people I personally understand WHY he did what he did. Can the same be said for today's terrorists? Hardly!! Totally totally agree with this! Well said dolly, I was just trying to post something similar but you e said all I wanted to say, and better.  |

Sat here in tears, even the news readers voice is breaking on bbc, so many people have never known him, never met him, but will be grieving for him tonight...what a man to have touched so many people. A brave, dignified, gentle and loyal man, with a humanity that puts most to shame. Truely truely sad day. |

So very very sad  What a legend...that word is used lightly too many times, but it's a word that's fitting for Nelson Mandela. He changed so many lives and gave a future to so many people. RIP MR MANDELA, sympathies to all his family and fellow South Africans. |

Why does any semi serious discussion I start end up smutty.....really folks.....manners!!!  A semi serious discussion about a single grey hair keepitgoin , Smokeybebe & myself will go sit in the naughty corner while there we will check for grey hairs so we can fully contribute to thread in a constructive manner , now off to the corner you two I will join you shortly I like it in the naughty corner, it's not boring  You and keepitgoin are leading me astray a bit though....I've always been easily led. I thought only carpets that were used a lot become threadbare...I've been single for ten years so not much action on my carpet Who said you needed a partner for action , that's why they invented Anne Summers shops  you never heard of the rampant rabbit ? Who said I haven't  |

I dyed mine from the first time I saw a grey hair, which was when I was about 35, so like you, have no idea how grey I really am. The curtains still match the carpet though so I might not be as grey as I fear. Was that too much information  I am so pleased I got up early to find out your carpet hasn't faded, although, I'm told, being thread bare is the worst! I found one when I was 21. Since then I mercilessly dyed it year after year and had no idea how grey I really was getting. Last December I had a medical problem on my scalp which meant I had to shave all my hair off to administer the treatments. I was somewhat shocked when it started growing back as I wasn't as grey as I thought I would be. Got it around the temples and hairline, but all over not too bad. Thing is, I got myself a good quality wig as I was entitled to a discount for medical reasons and still use it now when I go out, so technically, I don't have ANY GREY HAIR!! I'd love to be there! Dunno about transport or if my Daughter would be on board too, or if anyone is passing my way within 10-15 miles or so, I could drive and meet up and cadge a lift the rest of the way?  If not, maybe if I left home at about 9am I might make it on time...allowing 8 hours or so for getting lost, turning around, ending up in another town altogether and finally getting there when your all leaving to go home  ( I know it's not far but I'm disgustingly bad with directions) It's my birthday on the 20th too, so would be nice to be there |

I'm getting fed up too Waiting for 2 orders to come, one says shipped on Oct 29th and the other on Nov 5th. No tracking number for either. One is a Xmas prezzie for my daughter too, so getting worried now that it's not going to be here on time. Opened tickets but just keep being told to give it another week or two. Shame, cuz I like ordering from them, they are so cheap. And I'm cheap. |
