Thanks Stewarty, there are many knowledgeable voices on this forum, most wiser than mine when it comes to PV usage and modding. It must be one of the friendliest most helpful places I have ever (virtually) been. 100% agree, have been on countless forums over the years but always got pis*ed off with the snidy condesending cleeks that formed within the membership who took great pleasure in belittling anyone that didn't have their "Superior" knowledge. Totally love this forum everyone is so helpful and you never get ridiculed for 'blonde posting'

Both sent with DHL, first one came through no probs .. but got text this morning asking for £17 odds for this one. Went on to the DHL site to pay it and when I put the ref number in it comes up with someone else name and nothing outstanding so not sure whether to phone them or wait and see what happens Ooooo . . . could just be a happy DHL error for you then Stewarty, hope so. I'd give them a ring myself just to be sure. All sorted now Perps .... Had to cough up the £17.87 before they will deliver so will get my HC order tommorrow Suppose I can't compain, out of all my 'imports' over the years this is only the second time I've been stung so still worth the gamble

There's always a way mate, not much that can't be fixed. Was thinking that the 510 connector might punch out, failing that I would probably build up thickness and then tap it to 510 thread (7mm x .5) or drill for a tapped friction fit tube insert. Probably go with brass if the head is stainless steel, shouldn't need to worry about galvanic corrosion for a few years that way. The plastic bit (Dielectric separator) shouldn't give me too many issues as I was a radio engineer for 15 years before becoming an electro-mechanical engineer, so I am quite familiar with them. Anyway PM me if you want me to have a look, won't cost you more than a jiffy bag and postage. Just thought I would say that it is so refreshing to see someone with the knowledge, skill and willingness to help others in this mad throw away society that we have all accepted as the norm. Good on ya mate

Sounds like the thread is knackered. Can't you just pull/drill it out and drop a new one in? If you are replacing it anyway I can have a look at fixing the old one for you to keep as a spare. Nice gesture mate ... the top cap is one solid piece so nothing to replace unless there was some way to fill the hole with something metalic and redrill and thread it. Get a bit more difficult cause there is thin plastic / nylon shim up the centre to seperate the positive conector from the body so if this won't come out would probably melt if you filled it with anything that required heat .... braising soldering etc

Not sure if this would work but could you not use something like a couple of the thin soft strands of copper earthing wire from 1.5mm twin and earth cable down the 510 hole and gently screw in a 510 to ego adapter using the wire to take up the slack. If you can manage to jam it in the hole the adapter will give you a new 510 / Ego thread for your atty
Has worked 4 me before with stripped threads but never tried it with an ecig.

A few good improvements on V2, better screen, 2 seperate tubes so when in 18650 mode no join half way up, wider hole at top so will take Evods etc without airflow issues, removeable top ring so it will take other wide ar*ed attys. All in all better performance but still not sold on the swirly design, as you say it's cut quite deep and the tube look like a similar guage metal as V2 so Imagine it must affect the strength of it and could damage easier. Overall I quite liked it and it's a good cheap step up from ego's etc but OH's friend liked it more so it now stays across the street .... I've got to many mods anyway plus another couple on route Agree it is very much improved, I was thinking about getting a carbon fibre j wrap but im a bit concerned it won't seat correcty with the swirly design :S Maybe worth a try Bernard, it would certainly improve it's appearance and even if it bedded a little into the grooves it would make them a bit smoother and less in yer face

I need to get a new top cap incorporating the 510 connector. Can anyone tell me where I can buy one. Thanks. jeffc jeffc can't see what could be damaged with top cap as it is just a solid bit of metal with the 510 threading cut down the middle with an insulated screw going up the centre to make the positive contact. The screw in the centre of the top cap is adjustable so it will make contact with the positive contact on your atty much like the centre pin on Ego', Vamo's etc. Unless the screw in the top cap is missing or the insulation damaged there is nothing much else that can go wrong. When I use my drawtube I sometimes need to adjust the centre screw in the top cap to suit the atty I am using as on this mod it is not spring loaded and the length of the centre contact sometimes needs to be adjusted manually, if it is not screwed far enough out it will not make contact with the positive connector on the atty

i had a good play with my v3 just now. where they have cut the spiral into it, is fairly sharp edging.. the top cap comes off and its not diamontes on it but little incuts which kind of sparkle. the led plate isnt as secure on as it could be. all in all i still reckon its worth the money (fasttech) A few good improvements on V2, better screen, 2 seperate tubes so when in 18650 mode no join half way up, wider hole at top so will take Evods etc without airflow issues, removeable top ring so it will take other wide ar*ed attys. One of my packages seems to be AWOL at present, no tracking update for 8 days, so i put a ticket in and got this response. That seems to be the stock reply. It was mentioned on the FT forum that in order to give the free posting they have an arrangement with the carriers to use only unused carrying capacity. If the flight is at or very close to the weight limit, nothing gets posted. This hits the UK badly as most long hauls are on the limit with fuel and passengers. If that's the case it can only get worse as most of the Scottish schools are on holiday now and the rest of the UK will be breaking up shortly. Thats us into the peak holiday time so can't imagine many planes will have a lot of spare capacity ???
