Well, I had a few 'chats' with the Chief Executive at LACORS, and he STILL maintains that they didn't get it wrong (despite the FACT, clearly demonstrated!, that they did) but they did at least pull down the wretched press release. We shall bite them on the feaches... |

Hi all, Thanks for the support, but remember this was a global team effort! For now, we are going to be working directly with the MHRA (meeting being arranged imminently) to assist policy makers in making the RIGHT decisions. I agree: it ain't over til the fat lady sings, and she's not even in the WINGS yet, much less on the stage! lol However, this is a MASSIVE step forward. I am now working through the several thousands of pages of associated documents to find the meat and two veg at the heart of all this and will be updating the community throughout. I have NOT forgotten the US, however, and shall be addressing the FSPTCA alongside the UK work. So thanks to everyone, and pats on the back all round! We haven't yet won the war, but we are consistently winning significant battles! |

I can totally understand why you're disillusioned, but having read the statute for FSPTCA, I can see solutions leaping off the page! And with the CRE making the noises they are, and similar things occurring with the RPC over here, it's hard not to see that progress can be made. This is rather neatly underscored by the recent Court decisions, and I'm sure we can agree that the BT vs FDA case is going to be VERY interesting! I believe things are actually changing in Harm Reduction terms now. The international movement supporting Harm Reduction is going from strength to strength, and I truly believe that we MUST keep trying to get the truth out there. Somebody, somewhere will listen - and never forget that we have the truth on our side. It'll all come right in the wash |

I'm not quite sure what I have indicated Julie is part of.... I simply meant that we are discussing the finer points of the legal situation, because she is an absolute MINE of information, and knows far more than I do about how your system works.
I shall be taking apart the FSPTCA soon, and shall be grateful for support, knowledge and advice from Julie and Treece as I do so.
From what I can gather, Julie shares some of your concerns about the CRE. I am viewing this as part of a wider strategy however, and believe that we can use these things to help the cause enormously.
Sorry if what I said was misleading.

Exactly, Chrissie, which is why I reproduced it in my blog post! lol (And thank you for your kind words! ) At last, it seems we are beginning to find mechanisms for getting the truth out there. The CRE may not be as powerful as some of us would like, but they ARE in a position of having sufficient authority to produce white papers advising the FDA, and of being able to hold them account when they act in flagrant disobedience of the law! Surely, this can only be a good thing! Right, I'm off to compose my comments to both IPD's.  |

I am aware of that, Jerry, however I feel it is essential that we engage with this group, particularly at this time, because it will tie in with what I am working on to present to the FDA concerning the regulatory framework. (I'm working with Julie, Treece and Mark at MadVapes on this.)
By the way, although appointed by government to oversee regulatory activities, the CRE is actually independent of the Federal government, and is independently funded, so more valuable than they may seem at first glance.
This agency (the CRE) may not have as much clout as we would like, but nevertheless, in combination with Darryll Issa (with whom we shall be corresponding), I believe that this will form an important thread in the overall canvass, if you will.
I do hope that people with sensible and intelligent comments to make (which I believe is the vast majority of the peeps in our vaping community!) will do so, if they can spare the time. It is my intention to gather together some of the more relevant comments as part of our submission in due course.
Where we can 'impress' one group with our common sense approach, and our intelligence, we can impress others - and more importantly, ensure that they are at least aware of the truth before they make daft decisions.

Aww thanks guys. They'd better not carry you away Jerry, or I'll ninja Doodle them! I must admit, I do have some concerns about the FDA's examining TW's site with a magnifying glass... there is some devilishly scary stuff there!  However, the FDA doesn't seem to have a clue how to push their BS in the Courts, and if it's back with Judge Leon, it looks like a slam dunk.... Just depends what they can uncover, I spose. Back to wait and see, I guess.... |
