I always thought Silica didn't burn, but I held a fresh piece over a lighter flame the other night and it just glows red around the edges (the small furry strands) and then turns black.Any thoughts? holding any wick over a yellow lighter flame will turn it black mate, but it shouldn't turn black or bubble etc if you use a blue flame like from a mini blow torch. a new wick and coil will taste a bit funky for the first few puffs, after youve done the wick and coil you could drip a drop or 2 of e-liquid on to it and give it a few bursts of power, repeat a couple of times, then soak it 1 more time and replace it into your filled clearo... I've built 2 coils so far that had the same bad taste but didn't clear up after the usual first few puffs, the first time I realized that a couple of the coils were'nt actually making contact with the wick so make sure there is no space between the coils & wick, 2nd time I had used too much wick preventing the juice from getting inside to the coil. Are you sure? It's taken me over an hour to get the rubber bung in the bottom of a T3......it's enough stress to make me take up smoking..... couple of tips regarding that pesky rubber bung, push it out from the coil side with a kebab skewer or similar, dont yank it out too often with needle nose pliers cos the chunky ring on the end can split off putting it back in is a pain (this is much easier on the eVod too) but I've found it easier to lube it up a bit first with a drop of e-liquid then gently press it straight in holding it with tweezers (not from an angle)

Just a bit of info which may be useful to somebody. As said above I am on holiday - in the Canary Islands, and had thought I'd be able to get refill carto's - no luck though. As a substitute, I purchased a very cheap kit from one of the many Chinese run shops here. Called the E-Health cigarette. It comes with a car charger, USB charger for the computer and a wall charger, plus 10 replacement disposable cartos. All for the grand sum of Euros 6.90!! Now, I don't expect it will last for very long, but is certainly doing the trick for the time being. The bonus is, that the wall charger and USB outlet IS compatible with my rip-off kit which did not supply a wall charger. The replacement cartos/atomizers for my cheap Chinese kit cost just Euro 1 for 10!!!! sounds like the bargain of the year to me hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday

Am I right in thinking the eVod is easier to rewick than the T3/MT3? yes mate, both are pretty easy when you get the hang of it but the eVod is easier. You can unscrew the part that holds the coil, out of the base, making it much easier to snip the ends of your coil wire off, there's tutorials on youtube for both the T3 and eVod

good for you shorty it's great when things start clicking into place. I recently re-wicked and coiled my first clearo's and was well chuffed when they still worked and in my case worked even better than before btw your collection makes mine look positively paltry! lol so you can imagine what that link looks like to me

hey Chrissie, just saw this.. I reckon that will be an RN4081 thread - as good as impossible to buy cartomisers for it in the UK I noticed a while ago that the "Super" ecig Liberro used to do before the Realis was an RN4081 fitting, you can actually still get the cartos for it here (half price too) RN4081 cartosif you look down the page it says "ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH SUPER ECIG RN4081" But I have to say..best to put it down to experience, and get something easy to use/re-fill that performs great. If having a large e-cig bothers you, try a mini eGo battery and an eVod clearomizer the whole thing is tiny (about 12cm) the battery only cost me about £7 and about £6 for the eVod, get a usb charger, some nice juice and you're all set

hi emmita ...what is the diameter of your battery? 8mm, 9mm etc? they look very similar to the liberro & micro-lite cartos that I have cost me about £9 for 10 of them If you can't get the stopper at the end out (some of them are glued in or designed to break when you try) there is a vid on how to re-fill them quite easily here

well I'm no expert but if you havent cleaned it out in 4 weeks & you leave some of the previous juice in there each time you re-fill, over time, exposure to light, oxygen etc could cause nicotine-oxidation which I'm pretty sure I heard can make the juice go brown.

I'm loathe to clean it as I'd have to go without for a day or two give it a good 24-48 hrs drying time either in the airing cupboard or on a radiator.. I'm pretty new to all this myself, so sorry..but why would you need to go for a couple of days without it if you wash it? I wash my kanger T3 & eVod out pretty much every day or whenever I fancy a different flavour juice. Just give it a good rinse out in the sink, dry it out best I can with some kitchen roll and I'm back in business. The amount of tap water vapour we inhale in the bath or shower, I'm not going to worry about a tiny amount left in my clearomizers...or am I missing something here?

hello & welcome from me too congrats on giving up the smoking, you're already a week in so the hard parts over, easy wasn't it? the more you learn and try..the less daunting it all seems and the more you'll realize you made the right choice!
