My hobbies have been a bit neglected this past year as I'e been going back and forth between the UK and Ireland, but when I'm settled they are (in no particular order): making booze (hedgerow wines and mead, mostly, some beer and cider), creative cooking (ie, devising new recipes), photography (the 'real' camera is back in Ireland, but I make do with the little Kodak when over here). 3D computer 'art', online DJing in Second Life (or anywhere else that'll have me) and - recently - doing online courses for fun (the last one was 'The Science of Gastronomy', the next one is 'How to Argue' - be afraid!). Other than that, failing to do housework, failing to grow vegetables, and failing to write a book more or less covers the rest of my interests. Would love to learn more Irish (Gaelic) but it's not the easiest of languages!

Also, phone all your local vets and cat shelters - a friend and I rescued a cat the other week (he'd been around Dad's flats for a couple of months, we think his owner died) and the vet we took him to (to scan in case he was chipped) kept a list of 'found' cats in case anyone had lost theirs. Harvey - as he is now known - wasn't on any list, and is now happily living with my mate, so that ended well Worth checking. |

Keeping everything crossed for you (and her) that she turns up soon. One of my previous cats vanished for 3 weeks once, and my aunt's old cat was away a whole 6 months before wandering in as though nothing had happened. One of our current cats (Muddles) has taken to spending a few days away every month, I have no idea where she goes, but every time she's missing, I fear the worst. Really hope Poppet comes home soon.

No worries at ALL about the station - had a very friendly taxi driver! I'll be checking the Hobgoblin out regarding disabled access this week (see, learned something from Vapefest!) and will choose final venue accordingly. Sorry to hear you're not feeling great, hope you managed to catch up on sleep since you got home - personally am feeling overwhelmingly tired today after the excitement of the weekend - I don't get out much, lol! What is this 'too much drink' thing of which you speak? Never heard of that before  |

I've been talking to alanfinal about the date for the next LSE meet, because I shan't be in the UK again this year after September 17th. Looks like it may be the weekend after I go back, so am taking the bull by the horns and sorting out a mini-meet in Brighton for Saturday 14th September. The venue is likely to be the Hobgoblin in London Road (walking distance from the station) but I have yet to confirm with them about lack of overly-loud music and available food. I've already contacted one Brighton based vendor (the Vaping Vault) and will be in touch with the others during the week - so details are all a bit fuzzy at the moment, but I'll firm them up (ooer!) a.s.a.p. Just wanted anyone who might be interested to know about the date well in advance, so you can cancel all weddings/parties/trips abroad accordingly! Hope some of you will be able to make it Jo xxx |

Can't post any of last night's incriminating pics, 'cos I forgot to bring the right camera lead with me - so you'll have to wait until I get home tomorrow Up nice and early - it's not even 6 yet - to get a headstart on the day and try to remember how to get to the other side of the river where the Moat House is.
