robby - came from fasttech. There's no brass visible if the top cap is screwed down, as in the other 2 pics - it's when you unscrew the top cap a bit to close the gap that the brass becomes visible (should have put an atty back on to show). Thought it was supposed to be SS? chykensa - no probs - not holier than thou, and yep, if I could spend more, i probably would. Having now got a mech mod, I'm thinking that sending the vamo back wouldn't be too much of a problem. Super-Shiny - yes-sir-ee, that be the 510 connector Bit worried that there's no support from the top cap, having read that the 510 threads aren't the strongest to start with. The other thing I thought of, was to get a new slightly longer top-cap made somehow, but now wondering whether to return it, and try an SVD instead? Although, I don't really like the look of the SVD.... As for being SS, got a magnet to stick to the bottom cap, so that ain't ali (but not necessarily SS), but the tubes, no dice, so could be SS - they seem a lot sturdier than the bottom cap. Got a gold spring, which is magnetic, and OLED screen, which is nice. Oh the joys of Chinese buying....

So, my shiny new v5 vamo arrived today - how excited was I, until I started screwing atties on? Igo-l Protank Now I might have this completely wrong, but I don't think there should be a 1-2mm gap between the vamo & the Atty. The 510 connection is about 2mm proud of the top of the cap. Now, I understand I could screw's the top cap out a bit, but that exposes a brass ring (which i believe has no business being part of a SS vamo?):
Moreover, I am not entirely convinced this thing is built from stainless -it feels much more like aluminium! So, am I justified in my sending this back? Or is there anything I can do to fix the gap?
Maybe this is one of the reasons vendors are sending them back & not stocking them?

Many thanks to the organisers for a great day. Special thanks to smonkey & 'fat tony' Smonkey for wicking my igo-l, the kanthal and efest battery, the lift to the metro & the banter. (Didn't get a kebab, buddy, but she'd left some chinese in the fridge for me ) Fat Tony for generously giving me a sentinel clone as my first mech mod Ratfinkz - sorry we didn't get to say hi - I was the bloke with (how did Dave put it?) with the funny hair @freefromsmoking - thinking the Igo looks OK on the sentinel, and it vapes like a train - cheers.

I am doing something very odd today - I'm going to South Shields (better take my passport) - for the NEES meet.
Incidentally, the day I became smoke free (in fact also the time, as witnessed by mrs fred) :- 31/3/13 13:13One more reason never to go back to stinkies. Well spotted OneDay

Ratfinkz - are you coming? Not entirely sure where Suffolk is, but that normally means it's a long way from here Still, you're sure to get a warm North East welcome if you are I've got a day-pass, so hope to be there about 2-3ish. Hope I'm not going to be alone Anyone else going?

ASH are not on our side until they agree that vaping is not medicine.
They could become allies in the future, once this medicinal yarbles is quashed, and we need to fight e-cigs being lumped in with smoking.

BlownupdollyThere's 5 Tesco Extra stores within easy driving distance of me, and could I get a Hudl? Nope - I had to order online & get it delivered to the store about 1/2 mile away! And It looks like the purple folk are now in luck - they finally seem to have purple ones in stock.

The idea of having just purchased a Hudl seems to get better and better. I rooted it last night, and got rid of all the tesco bloatware and the annoying little [T] button at the bottom. Will be installing picuntu Linux in the recovery partition later today (will dual boot with android), so looks like this WILL replace my dodgy old laptop, which now has a dodgy keyboard & even Dodgier gfx card. And best of all - Tescos have just released the kernel source code for these little puppies, so watch the custom ROMs start rolling out

You can also 'ALT' click a user - then you don't have to worry about any changes in their name.
Also, get and have yourself a drink of milk - it'll help your tastebuds
