The o ring from under the centre pin thingy has come away from inside my vamo top cap, have tried getting it back but with my eye sight and arthritic hands am getting no where lol. Anyway silly question, it is still working so am I safe using it any advice gratefully received thanks No its not safe im afraid ... sorry the rubber grommit protects the live from shorting onto the casing which could result in blowing a component on the circuit board...or potentially worse but i would hope the devices built in safety would protect. On a more positive note someone should hopefully be able to reset it into position for you

I seem to have an uncanny knack of posting what not to buy on these threads Id avoid CCW as it seems very non descript (even undiluted it is nt very strong at all) nb:Second time ive knocked CCW but to balance some of their flavours are excellent.

I've done a bit of research previously and the iclears are virtually impossible. For my first go the evods look a bit simpler! Life is way to short to mess about with the i clear 16ns and 30s. Mix of res and non res wire with tiny little insulating sleeves on the legs and a 100 ways to end up with a short. I started on one and although i got it together i never even bothered trying it out as it was so faffy i was gauranteed to have a short somewhere I just buy them from fasttech each month.

The buttons press down on switches that are in turn mounted on the circuit board so id imagine its either the wiring causing a short circuit or component failure(maybe the circuit board switches)
But as already stated get the vendor involved as its clearly dangerously faulty and requires replacement.
Im sure he already has but just saying for the sake of it,remove the batteries from the device if not already done so.

A very poignant time.
My father was a POW (captured St Valery 1940 during the standoff for the Dunkirk withdrawal ) sadly passed away on the 18th November 1971 .
My prize possession is his war notebook written whilst a POW in which he wrote his thoughts and collected poems; which are even more poignant when i realise they were written by his friends and himself before they knew the outcome.
I thought id post one as a mark of respect to my father ,all the POWs ,those that suffered terrible injuries and the many who never came home from all sides .
Also a thought for the poor animals dragged into the humans madness for war
Never Grumble
Why has a man a longing for things he has not got When so many would be happy with only half his lot So often are they wishing – if only other things we've had Our motto now should always be, “For the things we've got, be glad” The use of eyes, of legs, and health and that precious gift, to hear! Some off our comrades may have lost just one, but yet so dear, So if ever we should grumble, just think over what we've got For those that lost, what we still have, would be happy with our lot.

greendollar im thinking of growing some seeds, am i right in thinking now is the time to get the seeds into pots with a view to planting in the early spring? Also how long did you dry the leaves for(Im reading elsewhere around a year?) Thanks I sowed mine in a greenhouse aprilish and put them out when the danger of frost was well over , they need quite a warm environment to germinate , the leaves took 4 to 6 weeks to dry but then you have to cure them (pressed then slowed cooked for a further 2 weeks) . I've also read that tobacco growers ' bale' up tobacco leaves to cure for anything up to a year as this improves the end product . Thanks for the info greendollar . Im going to buy some virginia and burley and see how it goes next year
