Super-Shiny is right, that's a great kit, and worth the price tag, but I remember the good old days when I didn't think it was worth paying more for these fancy smancy thingamywatsits

I always thought battery operated equipment was supposed to get round problems of fast discharge and getting it up.

I have no idea how many times it has been charged, we have a few on the go at once, but well ... many. I just put in in the charger and first it wouldn't do anything, then it said it was fully charged (it isn't) Is this how batteries die? I always assumed they would fade out gradually, as in last less time between charges. I just want to check before I measure it for it's little coffin

A lot of people use syringes, personally I much prefer pipettes. These days I tend to drop the actual flavours, saves washing stuff But that is after mixing for a while and getting to know what I can get away with and what I can't. I am not too fussed if the nic is a little off (with a base of 0.54% adding 10% flavour or 2% does mean a different level of nic, but for me at least ... life is too short whether it makes more difference at higher levels I will leave to people who use higher levels) In the beginning I never had enough bottles for all my experiments. Since things need to steep, it is worth making sure you have enough bottle hanging about to cope. I guess it depends on personality, I don't follow other peoples recipes, I prefer to mess about on my own. I've always cooked like that as well. I have about 12 mixes I use regularly, I know how many drops of each flavour I add to a 30ml bottle, and then fill with base (I'm probably putting more than 30ml in because the bottles hold slightly more, but again so long as it works idc really) It takes me minutes to mix, and I save a fortune. I have wasted some money on flavours in my learning curve, and some recipes have taken me some time to pin down, meaning I've binned some mixes, but in the scheme of things it isn't a lot. Currently I am refining my Earl Grey recipe to one I can share, which is a fun project. I started the whole thing by steeping real earl grey tea, but that wasn't enough. It also gunks up the coil, even when it is only a small% of an overall mix. It's amazing how taking out one component can change the other parts of the recipe considerably. I was using 10% of F'arts green tea, but am now down to that being only2% since I started using F'arts black tea as well. It's steeping atm, so I still don't know if I have finally hit the sweet spot, but at least the rejects are vapable while I wait

Hi and welcome I highly recommend the evod kit as well Once you try some decent gear you will never go back AND (so long as you don't get addicted to buying more and more and more gear), you will save money in the long term too

have you tried link£1.49 for 10ml plus a paltry P&P sum. As for home brewing, you should have a look at the Mixology section on this forum, not all mad scientists you know.LOL Yes joosejuice was my last order of e liquid as stated at the start of the thread :-) I found their flavors horrid and bland, apart from the bubblegum flavor. I suppose you get what you pay for. The mixology section is now my number one reading thread right now! Timbo I have some Capella bubble gum I'm happy to send you if you PM me your address, for some reason I can't taste the damn stuff (I am weird!) If you want it I can throw in a few other rejects, none of them are very old, and I would be glad to clear the space. It would give you something to play with in the beginning I used to mix 0 nic mixes just to test a flavour (penny pinching I know) Nicotine does tend to change a mix slightly, but at least you can get a sense of YUCK or mmmm, worth working with and bin the Yuck ones without feeling like you are throwing any real money away

Dragon.. I see that you mix your own base up,,(Sorry to pinch your thread Timbo) Where do you get your raw nic from, been trying for ages to get a source in UK? The nic base I am using atm is from LF (got it ages ago, but I mix so weak that the stuff lasts forever ) There are a lot of UK sources, but many of them don't post to Denmark so I am not up to date with who has and who hasn't (plus I have enough to last years already ) I have some more that I got in 28vapeslater's sale, but that is 7.2%, she doesn't stock it anymore, and atm I only use it for tweeking hubby's nic level

Just normal rubber gloves are fine, you can buy boxes of nice thin ones in the supermarket (at least you can here) Cappella flavour drops are flavours yes. Personally I prefer other brands because the flavours are stronger, but if you are ordering from there anyway then might as well get some to try When I get new flavours to try I tend to do trial mixes at : F'arts 5%, DV 10% and Capella 15% if that gives you a kind of bench mark

Gave up on my iClear30 after a couple of tanks full (far too bulky for me, and I don't like metal drip tips) But have been using 16s forever and still have the replacement heads I bought at the beginning. You are more likely to drop/sit on the tank and smash it than have to throw out a coil (if that happens I save the coil, so I have a couple of back up coils, so don't think will ever open the new ones I did have to learn how to dry burn properly for a couple of my flavours, but most of them just need a rinse very rarely.

Some of my mixes have certainly tasted "unique" Gloves are a really good plan, especially if you are messing around with high nic as in 5.4/7.2% Nicotine does irritate the skin. I premix my base in a big bottle to 0.54% using gloves, but confess that the rest of my mixing I do gloveless. When I have managed to get higher nic on myself, I do notice that my skin gets dry and cracked. Vaping IS far safer than smoking but nicotine should be treated with respect.

Hopefully someone will post a video for you about dry burning for you. Basically it is running power through a dry coil so that any gunk on it burns away (smells terrible, do it by an open window). I only do it with a couple of my flavours, because the others don't need it. There is a nack to it however and there are far more experienced people out there who have done videos It means I can keep using heads that otherwise I would bin. I resisted it for ages, because heads are really not a big expense, but I like figuring out the ins and outs of this lark, so I messed about until I got it right. You can literally see the black gunk on the coil if it needs doing.

Hi From my experience cleaning CE4's is not worth the hassle, but it is doable. Maybe I got the wrong ones, but denture tablets made everything taste of soap for me, even though I rinsed well after. I simply rinse most of my clearos with warm water. The heads I stick in a cup and pour boiling water onto them, leave for 30 then rinse and dry. I have learnt how to dry burn (so proud!) without getting that horrid burnt taste left, and I always boil them again after I have. Personally after discovering the iClear16s I haven't looked at another CE4/5 since. I still have the replacement heads I bought ages ago, because the heads just go on and on. Hope that helps a little
