Looking on Vapouriz's site they do still appear to be available, now by you mentioning cartridges I presume you mean cartomisers, if this is the case I found them to be expensive in the long run, what I do suggest is as an alternative is a ego style battery with a clear tank as these do last considerably longer and you can see what you vape, and you have more freedom to choose a flavour that is to your liking

Be patient each it each time you re-coil because when you get complacent it will turn round and bit you on the ass

I know it sounds strange but every time I re-coil I tend to listen to classical music ( it was something I found during my dissertation for uni to help calm me and focus myself for the task ahead ) as it helps to calm me when I get frustrated, but seriously listen to calming music when you do it and when you do not get the ohms you want you will not feel like throwing your vv/vw or mod out of the window.

Sometimes even now when I do not get the ohms I want I just concentrate on the music and I tend to feel a lot better when I re-coil

There is enough room for a kick with either 18350 or 18500 batteries (I do not know about other size batteries as I only use 18350 in mine). It turns your mod into a vv/vw as you can change your watts from 5w-10w or 15w with the v.2 as well as providing low voltage cutoff so you cannot completely discharge your battery it also provides a constant regulated power output.
