Raffles I am a public servant my self but I don't work for the council!
I just think that people are entitled to know what the breakdown of the £5.00 is - not too much to ask!!

I was spending the day with my sister yesterday in the beautiful city of -------. Anyway she said that she had to get a parking permit from the council as she has just bought her first car. The car my brother in law has already has a permit - it cost £26 per annum. Having a second car permit means she has to pay £52!!! If that's not bad enough we called into the council offices so my sister could show them the paperwork to say she is the owner of the vehicle.
The woman at the council walked up some stairs to view said paperwork and said to my sister that her permit was in the 'mail out' tray but it was too late to be sent today. I asked if she could bring envelope out of 'mail out tray' and give permit to my sister. The answer was yes she could do that but there would be an 'administration' charge of £5.00 to physically hand the permit to my sister!!!! I asked the lady why they charge £5.00 for her walking up the stairs with said permit and with a completely straight face her reply was 'they just do'. What????
Well, to say I was incensed is putting it mildly - I started to question the lady about the breakdown of the £5.00 administration charge and was dragged out of the council offices by sister. We did have words (me and my sister) outside the council offices. She said it's not worth making a fuss for £5.00. My argument is that is exactly the reason we should make a fuss - I personally think it's outrageous that councils get away with this carry on...
What are other folks views on this or am I fussing over nothing?

Raffles I've got SKY and never had a problem. I can't get Virgin where I live so I have no choice really because there are certain channels that I like to watch which aren't available on the free thingies. You don't have to have everything with them but it's the same with all these companies - you get bombarded with unwanted emails for which there is a delete button! It all depends what you want to watch...

Well, what to say other than the fact that I'm not blown away by the RY Whore but that's because I only let it steep for a week. I'll leave the rest and try it again next week. It has potential. What bit I had left to vape I mixed with my all time favourite Caramel Cappuccino and that made it bearable .

They were definitely playing on the 'female doesn't know anything' but I'm not as daft as I look and I certainly didn't believe them about the discs - they looked OK to me - luckily I remembered someone showing me good ones and bad ones before and as I say they looked fine to me. I won't be getting out spanners and Manual - my talents lie in other areas. I'll leave sort of thing to people who know what they are doing!
I do however need to change my drivers seat - it's all bent and twisted. But I will have a go at that once I've found one in a scrap yard!

Thank you raffles and chrisjw Funnily enough I was just talking to my neighbour over the fence - like you do and he has recommended a local garage which he takes his car to and they don't charge a fortune so I'll give them a go. Regarding the brakes - a long as they work that's fine by me and anyway when the discs are going you can hear and feel them scraping which I can't at the moment. The exhaust is the first thing I've got to get sorted - the noise is really beginning to get on my nerves and everyone looks

I know my car has a problem with it's exhaust - I can hear it! I've taken it to a few of those national repair centres but tried another one today only to be told that my brake discs and pads are knackered as well . Anyway if I want the lot repairing it'll ONLY BE £330 .
£330!!!! That was me falling over laughing at the ONLY £330 interspersed with some very colourful language and not at all ladylike
They attempted to use scare tactics - your brakes might fail - your exhaust might fall off. I really recommend you get it sorted today - yes I always carry £330 around with me! Are they scare tactics??
B*****y car is only worth tuppence!!
I'm in a quandary - my car is old and not worth anything monetary but to me it's worth a fortune and I like my car and it's cheap as chips to insure. I can't afford to buy a new one and I just don't know what to do...
I'm only having a moan - sorry but I know it's going to irritate me for the rest of the weekend.

Thanks purple1234 I ordered some RY whore and it's currently sitting on a shelf 'steeping' - I am sooo looking forward to giving it a go - on your recommendation. I do urge anyone who likes RY Whore to give Caramel Cappuccino a go - it's very caramelly if you know what I mean and nutty, and it's ever so slightly sweet. It's extremely addictive which can be a problem at work

Chefs vapour also do a thing called 'Caramel Cappuccino' and it's b****y fantastic and best of all everyone else likes the aroma it gives off. It's caramelly, cappucinoiii and sweet and delicious but I'll now try their RY Whore - that too sounds fab - if only I could get on their damn website to order - I've run out of everything

Hi there. I've been vaping for just over 9 weeks now but I'm confused about the PG/VG that's on offer with the juice that I buy. I always go for the 50/50 mix - even though I haven't got a clue what it means!!! Would someone be kind enough to explain it to me what the difference is and how it affects vaping.
Many thanks in advance...

Hi there - thought I'd put my ten penneth in here. There is a brilliant book by Dr Michael Mosley called 'The Fast Diet'. It explains all the scientific stuff in a way that non scientists like myself can understand. It's a really good book to start the 5:2 diet from but personally the key for me is not to think of it as a diet but as a change of lifestyle. I have never dieted in my life -I like food too much and luckily I've never really been overweight! I've noticed that when people say they are on a diet they constantly think and talk about food!!
I am very lucky that at the grand old age of 55 (25 in my head!!!) I am in excellent health, have a very active and physically demanding job. I also work 12 hour shifts - days and nights. I started this lifestyle change about 4 months ago and have never looked back. I eat very little on the 'fast days' (rest days from work) but as someone has already said you feel like you have taken happy pills! It's a very weird feeling but at the same time everything is so much clearer and the bonus is that I have so much more energy.
It does take a bit of getting used to and getting your head in the right place but as I said at the beginning - the book is brilliant for that - you'll want to get going straight away.
Good luck to anyone giving it a go...
