Not the best presenter, but, the concept is good. If you have resistance in the circuit, you are going to get voltage drop. This will possibly cause the chip to think the battery is discharged!
Think mech mod maintenance, we always kept threads and contacts cleaned for this reason!

These have been doing it from brand new I believe, no chance of juice getting inside. Maybe removing the top cap has improved the ground connection. Definitely something to look into. Thanks PlugwashOK, Mini road test complete after the dismantle, wipe clean and rebuild. All is working still, Aqua v2 dual coil like a dream, blowing great clouds with 4 pints of Palmers 200. Just got home and the Subtank mini that hasn't been recognised by the M50 for 3 weeks is now also working like a dream! So, it's either juice ingress, or, as Ripshod said, bad earthing. If you are happy reseating the topcap it might work!

Hi Guys,
Long time lurker! ( I joined in 2013!!!)
I think I've identified the issue, I have been running an Xpro M50 since the middle of Jan and it's just started to have the same issue, even on a 100% charged Samsung 25r.
Thought I'd have a look inside, took the battery out and undid the top cap. Juice ingress is, I believe, the cause. I had a fair amount of juice around the 510 innards and wiring, so cleaned it all up with tissue, and thus far (about an hour) it's been behaving. I have an Aqua v2 running dual coil at 0.8 ohms on it, there is some juice leakage from the 510 on the Aqua, I can only assume this has built up inside the M50. There is absolutely no seal on the top cap at all.
Thoughts?
Mike

I'm still learning with my Octopus, but what I can see is it depends on the thickness of the wire (thinner is more resistant) and the number of turns in the coil. So try another turn or 2 to up the Ohms! Conversely, with the same wire, if it's not resistant, drop the number of turns, or get some thicker wire thoughts from a noob at this wick and wiring malarcky Mike

OK, no link to the vendor, I paid for the juice as a result of comments here. Just bought an Octopus RDA and have been impressed with the difference in the flavour with juices that I've vaped before. But, I felt the need to comment on this one! All I can say is that I dripped this on to a newish coil tonight which I had dry burned clean, just WOW. I'm still not sure I can taste the individual constituents just a fabulous sweetish, nutty rounded taste which is fantastic! I'm using an Evic at 5.5V with a coil (my 2nd build!) which read 2.7 ohms, but is now reading 3.3 for some reason. I don't care this is fantastic! Juice I have is 18mg if that helps, throat hit is fine, vapour production, well full is the way I'd describe it I suspect I will be buying more! Mike

Don't worry, you do need to take all batteries as hand luggage. Any liquids you take on the plane need to be part of the 100 ml limit that is imposed. So, when I went to Turkey last month, I put all my batteries (2 Egos and an Evic) in a separate tray with my mobile and wallet, cash etc. Full clearomisers and bottles went in the clear plastic bag with the wife's perfume! If you need more, just put it in hold bags. I explained to the guy that they were vaping devices/ecigs, no problem! Coming back, same deal! Enjoy your break and just remember to take enough liquid to see you through Mike

just to add, it's now showing 3.3 ohms on the Evic! No reset, and I'm still vaping at 5.3 V. Still tastes fantastic (18 mg juice)

Try House of Liquid, if you like tobacco style
Alchemists Cupboard for some things a little different
Ecigwizard makes and resells some good flavours
Loads more, it all depends what flavours you want!

Octopus update 2! Took awhile to get the wick and wire sh*t right, not sure I'm there yet but getting better! 3rd coil tasted good for 2 evenings on the HoL guevara, so I then cleaned in hot water, dried and dry burnt it. Originally it was showing as 2.7 ohms on the Evic, now 3.5 for some strange reason Any way, it looked good and clean, so wet it with Alchemists Cupboard, Coconut Caramel and Hazelnut honey, first time I've tried the juice. Again WOW! For 10 quid and the cost of some wick and wire, this is great fun and delivers a fantastic vape. Still use the ego and Davide/Protank for work, a hell of a lot easier during the day. Now have an IGO-W and more wick and wire on order - happy vaping days Mike

I have 2 Protank 1's, a Davide, 2 Mini Davides and a Puritank. The atomisers are all compatible, the bases on the non minis are all interchangeable. I'm using the Davides out of preference, no leakage and a great vape right to the last. I use Ego's for work with the minis, and have an Evic in the evening. Out of choice, I'd go for the Davides every time, I think they are a far better experience. The only down side is you need to be careful filling them, as they have quite small entrance holes to the tank. A syringe is ideal. As far as the atomisers go, very reusable, I simply wash them in very hot water when they are past their best and then dry burn them until the smoke disappears ( you will need to ease the post off beforehand) Either way, you will enjoy

Octopus update! It arrived today, WOW vaping some HoL Guevera in it at the mo, this thing rocks!!! Using the pre made coil/wick at 2 ohms, but what a difference over protanks/Davides which is my normal set up. I have some wick and wire, so looking forward to the rebuilding!!!! Thank Perpetua, just ordered an IGO-W from fasttech at around a fiver to give that a go as well. Davides will still be the main vape for work, but what a change in the evening

Guys, Just ordered one of these, first venture into rebuildables! How are they? As good as people say? Are they that easy to maintain, I'm happy and willing to play with tools, wire, wick etc. Been vaping for 6 months with various things, but feel the need to get experimental
