This is a last minute reminder to anyone that can make tomorrow either at the shop or at the Prince of Wales pub to help support the BBC news shoot. The BBCarrive at the shop at 3pm and will be there until 5pm. At 5pm we will head over to the pub opposite for a vape meet. I know of at least 2 other vendors as well as ourselves that will be there along with a selection of shinies etc.. The BBC film crew will also come across to the pub to film casual vapers over a beer. As part of this occasion and also as part of World vaping week, we will be giving a 20% discount off everything in store for tomorrow afternoon only. Come along and provide your support for vaping as part of World Vaping Week. Your support will make a big difference. Hope to see as many of you there tomorrow as possible.
Cheers, Phil

Thanks guys, Your support is well appreciated even though you may be too far away to be here in person. By the way, our website is so out of date with regards the amount of stock and variety of hardware we have. Since we opened a few days ago we have had thousands and thousands of pounds of new items in. We are so busy sorting out the shop we haven't found time to update the website yet but we will over the next week or so. I just want to get the BBC out of the way first.
Thanks again to everyone that's helping to spread the word about the BBC visit. I'm sure that there will be a good turn out even though we haven't see confirmations on the forums. The word has got to be getting around by now.
Don't forget everyone, there is going to be a vape meet at the Prince of Wales pub opposite our shop at 5pm in readiness for the BBC broadcast. This is a chance for everyone that can attend to speak up and provide a positive slant on all things vaping. BBC South today at 6pm on the following day will be watched by 100,000's of viewers and a good number of MP's. The viewing figures for South today is somewhere in the region of 500,000 viewers. This is a huge opportunity for anyone and everyone to get involved. What a brilliant way to get World vaping day noticed. Phil

How often do you get a chance to be on TV and at prime time as well? We still need confirmed bods to turn up on Wednesday afternoon around 4pm'ish and for a mini vape meet at the pub opposite for the BBC film crew to focus on. Come on guys and gals lets show the BBC what vaping is all about and really plug the vaping community whilst we're at it. We wont get another chance like this for a long time.
Cheers, Phil

DJ, I'm sure you're right but it would be great to have a few confirmation emails or something so that I can sleep easy. Failing that, I'll have a good few whiskys tonight and I'll sleep easy no matter what.

Thanks Womble, much appreciated. I've posted on UKV and PoTV. I think we were mentioned on Vaper trails TV live show last night and I'm probably going to be live on RY4 radio tonight. Still no confirmed supporters for Wednesday yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Cheers, Phil

Come on guys. There has got to be a bunch of vapers that can... 1. Come along to the shop filming in the afternoon 2. Meet up at the Prince of Wales pub opposite the shop for a mini vape meet at about 5pm 3. Suggest a workplace both in Berkshire and Oxfordshire that allows vaping on their premises and would like some free BBC publicity 4. Suggest a pub in Oxfordshire that allows vaping on their premises and would like some free BBC publicity

Thanks for your support guys. I still haven't found anyone that can confirm they can be here for the shop filming or the pub filming yet. I also need to find a workplace in Oxfordshire and a vape friendly pub in Oxfordshire that is up for some free BBC publicity. Fingers crossed something happens soon to change this.
Cheers, Phil

Hi all, Our shop opened today but we are still waiting on lots of deliveries including our retail counters and a whole bunch of hardware. I got a call from the BBC about an hour ago asking if they can come around with their camera crew and interviewers to do a piece that they can show on World Vaping Day, 19th September. There is a really nice vape friendly pub across the road and the BBC would like to film the shop on a busy day and then go across to the pub with some of our regular customers (which we haven't really got at the moment because we just opened).
This is where you come in. I can confirm the BBC will get here, sometime on Wednesday afternoon, 18th September , can any of you come over and help to support the cause. It will probably mean you will be on TV. If you can, will you let me know either via a PM or preferably on this thread so we can all see who can make it. Once the BBC have gone we can perhaps have a mini vape meet in the pub. (this is a given really) Thanks to everyone for their support so far and I really hope we can make this work well and get our message out there. Cheers, Phil Our shop name is Berkshire Vapers at 35 Prospect Street, Caversham, Reading, RG4 8JB and the pub name is The Prince of Wales a few doors up on the opposite side of the road.
Update (including last email from the BBC)
I also need to find two companies, one in Berkshire and the other in Oxfordshire that fancy some free publicity on the BBC by tomorrow. If any of you work for a company that allows vaping in work/at the desk and would allow this to be filmed there is certainly some free publicity that a company would normaly pay through the nose for. I also need to find a pub in Oxfordshire that has some vapers willing to filmed in the pub and chat about vaping. If any of you could provide me names of companies or pubs wanting some publicity and can provide on site vapers willing to talk then please let me know, ideally by tomorrow early afternoon. I've copied the last email I received from the "Senior Broadcast Journalist" below for you to get a better idea. We'll certainly use the pub near you. If you could find a workplace in Oxfordshire AND one in Berkshire or Hampshire that would be great! Sorry for giving you a list! If we can find examples of these things more widely across the patch then it gives us the opportunity of broadcasting this piece to a wider transmission area and bigger audience. Hope that makes sense, and thank you so much for your help.

We are having a nightmare at the moment. One of our counter display cabinets hasn't turned up so we will be building it whilst we are serving customers tomorrow. One of our Kanger deliveries of mini Protank 2's has been delivered to the wrong address so I have to get to DHL tonight to try and track it down. Liberty Flights and ecigwizard have come up trumps and will be delivering a stack of stuff to us tomorrow. We don't know what time that will be though, it could even be at the end of the day. We do have quite a bit of stuff here though, we just need the rest asap. Who needs a shop counter or a complete stock count to open. We are waiting on our wall posters, furniture and more display cabinets as well. We should really delay our opening for a couple of days but what the hell. 9.30am tomorrow we will be open for business. Hope to see some of you here over the course of the week. Cheers, Phil

Everything is going smoothly with our opening plans. We are expecting to open the shop this coming Wednesday, 11th September at 9.30am. We will confirm the permanent shop opening and closing times very soon. We can confirm that the shop will be open 7 days per week starting this Wednesday. We will be closing our market stalls after tomorrows final visit to Blackbushe Market. All of our efforts will then be put into making the new vape shop a well kitted out vape shop and hopefully the first of a number of quality vape shops that we hope to open over the next 12 months. World vaping day is in 2 weeks time. If anyone has any ideas on what we could in the shop to help celebrate it, please let me know. All ideas are welcome.
Cheers, Phil

Hi All, We've got the keys at last and we've also managed to get our shop sign up. Shop counters arriving on Monday and a new stock order going in on Monday also. If anyone wants us to stock something in particular just let me know, preferably before Monday as that is when we submit our order. We are hoping and expecting to be open by the end of next week if not sooner. Our phone line and broadband is not being installed until the 19th September so we will only be able to take cash payments in store until that date. We still continue to take card payments through our online store as always. I hope you get a chance to visit us it would be great to see you all there. Photos of the store are on our Linked In page at www.facebook.com/BerkshireVapers?ref=streamCheers, Phil
