am i right in thinking Proboards host a multitude of forums and the 13+ is across the board, not just ecigarettes and suchlike? so a sensible rule. i started smoking at a very (i mean VERY) young age and with the help of here, have finally managed to stop. if one of my kids turned to here (specifically AAEC) to help stop smoking, then i would be a happy parent. it doesnt make it right, but i'm happy the advise and help is here to maybe help them. also my kid would get a very tanned backside if they had started smoking when i did ! What is being asked of the members is fair and sensible. It can easily be done and I'm sure it will be. The terms and conditions are another matter. I'm sure most members will live with them, even if they don't like them. However, surely they are allowed to express their opinion? Freedom of speech? Jag. Please forgive me if I am talking bollox fred (I dont have a V5), but is the top part a push fit? Have you tried taking the beauty ring off and tapping the top brass bit (510 connector) back in to the top bit of tubing with a bit of wood and a hammer/mallet? See disclaimer below  lol I'm not sure I'd be trying the above method .................... Jag. (Brass is kind of ..... soft .....) |

I thought taking the tops off was for letting some of the more perfumery smell and flavour be released from the juice? Someone please lead me to the steeping light! This . . . I don't subscribe to all this steeping mumbo jumbo, but each to their own I guess . . . just pop any bottles that need time for the flavours to completely infuse and blend, away in a cool dark cupboard and give them an occasional shake if you remember. With the caps on. But if you'd like to make it complicated, that is of course your privilege Furbs. Common sense rules. I've tried it most ways, and most of it is pure mumbo-jumbo. Well, this community has helped me a ton, it's the least i can do, problem is Chrissie has said ProBoards don't allow access to backups, i have quizzed as to what she has access to, and may request if she can temp make me an admin and see what i can do, i have knowledge of PHP and MySQL amongst other programming languages. I have no desire to see adult pictures also, but the prominent threat of immediate deletion if we put a foot wrong makes it risky to host with ProBoards then we need to move. Yes, this freehosting type of Forum always kept encrypted back-ups on the server ...... that isn't to say that you can't make a back up though ..... Sometimes, what can be achieved in the CP is quite astounding. I'd offer to help more, but I quit this side of things two years back, and I don't want to get back into the habit. Well i've messaged Chrissie offering some of the webspace i own, and i'll buy a domain similar, so we can host a forum away from Proboards if desired. What a great offer. That's why I like the people here. I wish to make it clear that I don't want to see "Adult" pictures here, nor would I ever post anything remotely close. I'm just saying that I do not feel this is a place for children, or to be more precise, those under 18. I also understand this is a Proboard issue, and just something that Chrissie is unfortunately stuck with. I say again. I don't want Smut here, but I don't like the idea of Children being here either. Didn't somebody once say ; "Sometimes you can't win for trying." lol It seems to sum up this unfortunate situation. Jag. (Said more than enough .... time to let others have their turn.) |

Jag, I don't post much now but I do still read the forum and like your posts, the thing is this forum is here to help people with converting from tobacco. I know we can all have a laugh but the thing is this forum has been threatened by parts that are not in the mods control, would you rather risking that knowledge being lost for the sake of a joke? I hope you take this in the way I intended, now go put your tights back on ;-) xx I have no problem with cleaning up my act to suit a younger audience. My point is, considering the subject matter they should not be here. The law is very clear about this. But hey ...... life goes on. People will make up their own minds and make their own choices. I just read it again. However, it just isn't feasible. Smoking is an over 18 subject by UK law. If anybody is on a sticky wicket here it is Proboards. The same Proboards that have used adult advertising to sell their product. I wonder how they would stand up if I threatened them with action under UK law? I'm guessing they would have a problem with their little set of rules. I understand the definition of "Hypocrite." Perhaps Proboards need to consult a dictionary. Long term they might even need to seek legal advice. I have no axe to grind here. But I do know the difference between right and wrong. It is wrong to mix ANY reference to smoking real cigarettes with Children. The law clearly states this is so. People here are a great bunch, and I think most of them, rules or no rules would agree that this board should be for over 18's only. Jag, no its not an adult forum. Minimum age for registering is 13 Understood. However, the issue of smoking real cigarettes is by law in the UK for over 18's only. As well as vaping, smoking real cigarettes is mentioned here all the time. Indeed it is part and parcel of most of the discussion here! Perhaps I should be offended? Some things can be taken too far. This board, because of it's subject matter should be for over 18's only. I freely admit that if this is not rectified I would find it difficult to post here, no matter how much I enjoy it. This is NOT a place for Children. I am a lot of things, but I am not a Hypocrite. Jag. (Looks like my days here are sadly numbered ... ) |

It seems to me that the issue here is a very basic one. Is this an ADULT forum, or is it not?
