A couple of months ago started getting a sore lip that seemed connected to Vaping - went to dentist and he said i had an ulcer and would make an appointment straight away with a specialist .From his urgency i gleaned that it could be a bit dodgy and asked him ,he would not commit and said he didnt want me to worry ,I now have an appointment with specialist at hospital and i just wonder wether it could be to do with the juice i remember the nicotine chews from a few years ago caused some oral problems .Just in prep i want to find some ZERO nicotine juice to use in my SD that tastes ok and gives good vape and some throat hit .Ant reccomends of any strongish flavours that could be suitable probably more fruity etc than cig taste and what combination of juice is best for zero nicotine.

Quite a few of us have suffered oral soreness of one kind or another, including "ulcers" and bleeding gums, in the early stages, it nearly always clears up - occasionally a change of juice is required. I don't think that vaping would cause ulcers that require investigation by a specialist and I hope yours is explained and cured PDQ!!! As for zero nicotine juices, I don't know many that use them but let's wait and see what transpires here Some of our suppliers may have feedback from vapers to help you. scylla

It could possibly be down to flavouring in your juice. I suffer mouth ulcers if I vape Cinnamon, and it does'nt matter who , or where I get my cinnamon from, or whether it's my own mix, or pre-mixed, I just don't get on with cinnamon.
Shame really as I love cinnamon.

It's not long since I read about others suffering from cinnamon burns, Griz I'm surprised we haven't had more responses to Birdy's problem, so here's a bump. But I realise it's early days yet scylla

The only such problem I've had and it's now cleared up, was a slight peeling of the soft skin inside my lower lip. I put this down to vaping too hot. I hope the ulcer is dealt with successfully very soon. Fox

Thats how things started for me ,the skin peeling inside bottom lip then moved on to being sore for a few days before going away completely only to return 2/3 weeks later and again be sore for a day or two before going away.

Birdy, nicotine is an antiseptic and unlikely to be causing your ulcer. 'Tis more likely to be other ingredients in the juices you use and/or contact with the mouthpiece you are using. The worst mouth and throat ulcers I ever had, developed when I quit smoking (pre the invention of e-cigs) and lasted for over 6 weeks. Although I claim that quit as cold turkey, in point of fact I was eating sweets for Europe and holding boiled sweets in the favoured sucking position will cause some erosion and ulceration. Your dentist maybe wants investigation as to why the ulcer isn't healing as well as what's causing it. In the meantime, adult bonjela is good for the discomfort. Fruity juices can be quite acidic and might irritate your ulcer too.

Don't just assume it's vaping related, ask your dentist's advice.

due at oral specialist today 3pm so may have something to report back - it was the way dentist reacted on seeing ulcer that made me think it could be fairly serious ,I asked him wether it could be serious and he didnt answer only saying he didnt want me to worry .Caution ? he must suspect something or why refer me to hospital .Have been using a multitude of different liquids so cant pinpoint the one being used when ulcer rears its head .

What a plank the man is. He has worried you and not telling you what is worrying him is presumably worrying you more > He wouldn't have got away with that if I was his patient if he valued his dangly bits and finger nails. Well, not long to wait now Birdy. Fingers crossed that it is nothing serious.

Good luck at the hospital. Let us all know how you get on.
I suffer quite a lot with mouth ulcers usually as a result of being run down.
