If its a tactile switch on a board Ive known them fail, had a couple go myself on cheap isticks . If you can find a similar sized switch and someone with the skills/equipment to do it should be an easy fix. I'm not sure what type of switch it is, it's just like a small button. Jay

Hi all, I have a minikin 2 and the fire button seems to have developed a fault. The button is very loose and doesn't click any more and it's often firing just by laying it down or when holding it on its side the weight of the loose button seems to fire it. I've stripped it down and can't see what the problem is but where the button would push the switch on the board internally there's no click to that. In truth I don't know what I'm looking at. Are there any resident geniuses who think this is repairable as I do like the mod but just don't have the funds to buy a new one ?

Take the tank off and hit the fire button. It should say no atty then clean the threads with a cotton bud and try again. Thank you for the reply but we've tried that and still the same.

Hi all, I hope someone can help. My friend has a smok alien and asked me to build her a couple of coils on her tfv8 rba. I buiilt her two coils of 5 wraps of 26+32 ga Clapton around a 3.5 mm jig. This build should give me around 0.4/0.42 ohms. The alien however gives a reading of 0.113 and won't give any vapour production untill she turned the wattage up over 100w. I knew this wasn't right so tried the tfv8 on my minikin v2 and sure enough as I expected a reading of 0.42ohms. I also tried my smok tf rta with the same build on her alien and it read that as 0.130 I know full well it's 0.42. So it appears it's an alien issue. Any advice or input greatly appreciated.
Jay
Edit. She can manually adjust the resistance but not sure this is the best option as surely the mod reading the resistance accurately would be better.

I wouldn't worry too much, they sent one of my orders to the wrong address but replaced it without hesitation when I informed them, I also had an order with a bottle missing, again sent with no fuss. They also rang me regards one of my items being out of stock, very apologetic and keen to replace the item with another of my choice.

seeing as I make my own clapton wires and have carpal tunnel (which doesn't help with some of the fiddly stuff) I'd go for 26/32 nichrome if you would like a faster ramp up and an easy to use wire. Should give you 0.32-0.33 ohm with 3mm x5 wraps. Kanthal would be 0.4?? a pair for the same. Either are going to be easy enough to get hold of too. I can't seem to find any of the nichrome in the gauge your suggesting. Is nichrome ok to use in temp control should I want to ? If not I'd still like to try it as I vape in wattage mode and tc. Jay

fused claptons take less time to ramp up and ss seems to take less time still my stupidness at the moe Any links to UK sellers fused and stainless in the sort of gauges I should be looking at would be much appreciated. I know it's all there if I google but Your m not up to speed on U.K. wire sellers, who's reliable and good value etc. Jay

Thank you for the links. If the outer wire doesn't really affect the resistance then what does the difference make ? Jay

Hi all, I've been building my own coils for some time now but only single coil builds mostly ni200. I've recently been using a smok tf-rta g2 with the pre installed dual claptons and I'm really enjoying the vape it' gives me at 0.4ohm. So the advice or pointers I'm wanting is what clapton wire do I need to be looking at that with about 5 wraps around a 3mm bit will give me around 0.8 ohms so when I do a dual build will obviously halve. I've never built on a dual coil deck and my fingers don't work quiete so well these days so something that is easy to work with not to springy but also doesn't take forever to heat up. If this is a dim witted question please feel free to say so.

Thanks peeps, it's the socket at fault I've wound the screws out and the switch now resets, I'll let a sparky take a look.
