Thank you Di
Just so I can be clear, that includes soaking the metal bit in the middle that screws into the bottom?
And thank you for correcting my terminology, I had wondered what a drip tip was, I don't and it doesn't seem to drip - so sucky bit seemed OK
You live and learn.....................

Hi guys
Tagged the below on the end of my newbie thread yesterday but nobody seemed to notice, so apologies for reposting.
Have just cleaned the clearo thing and put a new head on.
On the page on the ecig store which sells them, it talks about washing the head and wicks.
Is there any point doing that - I thought the burnt taste meant that the head was knackered?
When you soak the tank bit and sucky bit (was also embarassed about buying false teeth tables - perhaps I just have a low embarassment threshold) do you soak the metal bit that goes in the middle?
I won't even begin to think about recoiling which you clever people seem to do - wiring a plug that's about the best I can do!
While I'm on there is a meeting in Bradford next week which I am thinking of going to - why do I feel nervous about it? Bit like going to AA lol.
And, for those that are interested, haven't managed to stop the proper cigs yet, thought I was going to do it Thursday last week, was in Manchester with work and as soon as I had finished work, I was driven, yes driven, (mentally) to go to the nearest shop and buy some cigs. Bizarre cos the vaping took the edge off the craving - never mind, going to have another go tomorrow (as, obviously, you can't stop smoking on a weekend, I think there is a law about that somewhere, just can't put my finger on it at the moment )
Had my last ciggie (hopefully) on way to work this morning!

Bumsucked, that was it.
Used in another context it meant something else altogether.
Although both were shameful acts when I was at school, perhaps one slightly more than the other.

That expression throws me back. To bum a cigarette in England meant to cadge one. In Wales it meant to smoke it in such a way as to get the end wet - it was not considered polite

Will run out of proper ciggies tomorrow - already feeling anxious about it!
Suppose can only give it a go. Have got plenty of liquid, including some flavours that i haven't tried yet - hopefully new heads will come tomorrow - otherwise I've got a tank that I haven't tried yet that has some heads with it.
First time in 30 years won't have smoked.

Have ordered some sample size things and some heads, thanks so much for all the advice and tips.
Toffee, cinnamon, mocha, soft mint and irish cream.

I've already confessed to being a dimwit here, but Live and learn. I have to keep going back to the glossary for all your pgs and vgs and things, but think I followed that - sounds dirt cheap to make your own. Still, best not run before we can walk. 28th sound good.

Excellent, thank you Chrissie
Annihilator - I thought I was bad getting a menthol one to try out - used to quite like consulate for a change (not even sure if they still make them!)

DJS - don't know how to do the smiley things but PMSL.
When I was at school, the more discerning kids warned me off Black JPS on the basis that the filters contained asbestos and would therefore make your lungs bleed.
I just liked them.

Bloody hell!
Friendly and helpful doesn't really cut it.
I'm trying to work out what head things I need. The one that was linked to above says it doesn't work with CE5 holders, I think I have the cE5 ones, but not absolutely sure.
Have actually used the thing tonight instead of ciggies - well, not exclusively, but a bit (lol).
Meeting up sounds interesting - do I have to carry the financial times or wear a pink carnation or something? Saying that, mixing your own - that sounds a little advanced for me?
(And Jordan, what on earth are you smoking in your photo!)

Thank you all, you are friendly aren't you - some other forums I have looked at (not about ecigs) seem to be populated by people who can't wait to have a go at people!
Unless I have that pleasure yet to come - lol.
My kit is the one Chrissie linked to in Reply 1.
There is also another thing with it, which I think is a tank, but which is quite bulky - that came with what I assume are two spare heads.
Have now had a fiddle with the one that I think is now duff and taken it apart, so I can see which bit screws off - title of threat confirmed - dimwit, I had been trying with tweezers to unscrew it from the inside the base - not surprised it didn't work.
DJ - have you found anything that tastes like JPS - I don't think that many people smoke them, so I guess there might not be a liquid that mimics them?
Just need to work out how to stop smoking in the evenings now!
Thanks again everyone for being so welcoming.

Hi
Have been reading these posts for a little while but just registered.
I started a couple of months ago with Skycig, which I wasn't that impressed with. The batteries lost their mojo very quickly and seemed to hold less and less charge by the day. Some of the cartridges seemed to be duff in that there was little flavour even when new (a few wouldn't produce anything).
So, I bought a Joytech Nova (?) kit from UKEcig store which, unhelpfully, came with no instructions whatever. I did ring them and email them asking for instructions but got a link to a couple of videos which were not especially helpful.
The kit, which I have been using during work hours only (will get to the point where I give up "proper" cigs) had two clearomisers (?) which I think are CE5 from the pictures on this site. One started tasting a bit rank yesterday so I have changed to the other one. Am I right thinking I can/need to change the bit inside (head?) and if so, how do I know what I need and how does it come out?
Sorry if this sounds daft!
The "juice" I am using, I bought 30ml of 24mg tobacco flavour with it that I haven't started although I did quite like the 10ml of the same. But the one I am using now, "mix H" from No Match seems tastless and I don't get much of a throat hit (I'm, slowly, getting into the language).
Anyone got any recommendations - for what its worth the cigs I smoke are Black JPS so something as close to them as possible would be good.
As I said, sorry if these have been asked and answered, couldn't find it - maybe I am just a bit too noddy at the moment! Thanks for any help.
Steve
