Hi all,
I'm a newbie on the forum, as it's ecig related i'll hit it off by giving a background on my previous smoking habit.
I smoked reasonably heavy for 13 years smoking mainly tobacco, i would say i smoked equivalent to 30 rollies per day prior to quitting.
I wanted to quit for a long duration but kept putting it off, eventually the unfortunate circumstance came about where my mum was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, she battled hard for 2 long years of which i was her carer for the remaining 6 months of her life. she passed away at the young age of 59.
You would have thought that would have been enough to get me to quit but i continued to smoke for a further 2 years, partially through denial and stress... further down the line my father who was separated from my mother since i was the age of 4 also got diagnosed with lung cancer but his was far more severe, he was given 2 - 3 months and passed away within 2 days of diagnosis which was now 7 days ago at the young age of 61.
I'm not here for sympathy or anything and if you personally knew me you would know i'm not that sort of person, either way that's my experience so far and the major persuasion i have encountered pushing me to quit, which i have successfully achieved for the past 1 year without any lapses, not even a puff.
I currently have 2 ecigs by innokin and buy juice from smokshop.com in the UK, and have no negative experiences using them.
So that's me, i purely posted this as i get the vibe here is very community based... generally i wouldn't share this sort of thing with anyone.
Right it's Saturday night, i'm off for a beer!
Cheers,
Sam.

Welcome aboard, It's an unusual introduction, and an odd question to pose to a forum for enthusiasts. Couldn't have put it better myself, Mark. You never know, samheart may introduce him/herself over on the newbies thread , so folk don't get the wrong impression. Hi, Sorry i'm relatively new to forum style posting so wasn't aware of such a large community sort of vibe, this is definitely apparent now seeing 3 pages of responses triggered by my innocent question... i'll pop over to the newbies thread and happily give an intro to myself, Thanks!

Thanks peeps!
Just the answers i was looking for!... andy01424 i'm not entirely sure what your saying there but sounds like a joke thats flown over my head...
I'm personally vaping in the UK and purely buy liquids produced in the UK as ive heard negative comments about juices produced else where e.g china as they add additional chemicals in the mix, any thoughts or experience on the matter?
Cheers!

Good day! I have been using ecigs for a little over 1 year now with allot of success, no lapses what so ever and i feel physically allot fitter and healthier, i really haven't experienced any negative effects when using an ecig contrary to what the press says i find it a very healthy option compared to smoking. I'm interested to find out your honest opinions on the subject, have you found there to be any negative side effects when using ecigs ? are electronic cigarettes safe
Thanks!
