Hi all,

I'm a newbie on the forum, as it's ecig related i'll hit it off by giving a background on my previous smoking habit.

I smoked reasonably heavy for 13 years smoking mainly tobacco, i would say i smoked equivalent to 30 rollies per day prior to quitting.

I wanted to quit for a long duration but kept putting it off, eventually the unfortunate circumstance came about where my mum was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, she battled hard for 2 long years of which i was her carer for the remaining 6 months of her life. she passed away at the young age of 59.

You would have thought that would have been enough to get me to quit but i continued to smoke for a further 2 years, partially through denial and stress... further down the line my father who was separated from my mother since i was the age of 4 also got diagnosed with lung cancer but his was far more severe, he was given 2 - 3 months and passed away within 2 days of diagnosis which was now 7 days ago at the young age of 61.

I'm not here for sympathy or anything and if you personally knew me you would know i'm not that sort of person, either way that's my experience so far and the major persuasion i have encountered pushing me to quit, which i have successfully achieved for the past 1 year without any lapses, not even a puff.

I currently have 2 ecigs by innokin and buy juice from smokshop.com in the UK, and have no negative experiences using them. 

So that's me, i purely posted this as i get the vibe here is very community based... generally i wouldn't share this sort of thing with anyone.

First off let me apologise if I was a bit rough with you in the other thread, generally this forum is really sensitive to people and a really warm and welcoming place.
You've just had the misfortune of meeting us at a difficult time, Tuesday next week is an EU vote on the future of vaping and we've all put up with a lot of abuse from charities, health groups and government agencies we once used to trust with our health and found them to be corrupt and twisted.

Welcome and it's good to get some more info on you. The ecig community is quite a close one and we are tired of fighting everyone to keep ecigs available and legal. We are also tired of people making up stories about ecigs, which is why your 1st post may not have got the reaction you wanted.

Hang around, we are normally a very friendly bunch and I hope you will give us the time to prove it.

As kibbster said, we are a friendly bunch; but due to the upcoming farce which could amount to a de-facto ban on vaping, your first post seemed bit strange, especially s it appeared on 2 other forums under different user names.
