Stay that way as long as you can, if you're happy with the kit you've got, and it's performing to a satisfactory standard that YOU like then don't change. You'll save yourself loads of money Of course, if you have the oppertunity, try other stuff, if you think it'd be beneficial to you get it, if not, you can think to yourself that you've saved some more money It's not about saving money really I'm trying to understand the fascination of upgrading all the time but the word 'mod' does not fit at all with the process lol. I might change at some point but see no need to at all right now. The amazing people on here recommended the perfect kit for me (Perpetua actually pointed it out first) and I haven't looked back since. Regardless, if I change kit completely it is not a modification. I am an anally retentive English major for that I apologise

I used an ego for a good few months then got a cheap vamo from fasten and was just blown away by the difference it made to vaping. It was like the vape I had enjoyed but on steroids. Since then I've not used anything but mods. So you went from ego to vamo why is then called a mod if it's not a modification of what you already have but a completely new e cig?

If what you have does what you want then consider yourself lucky, you are only missing out if you are unsatisfied. Profound. Ballsy, that bloke out of Star Wars who said wise stuff... related? I think so!

...family would think I was attempting to vape a zippo lighter? That's nothing compared to the fun you'd have hawking it around in public

I love my EVOD. It's black, I get some liquid, I pour it in and I vape.
Am I really missing out?

I think if cigalikes were a lot cheaper and the refills didn't equate to equal value compared to cigs it would revolutionise the switch for potential converts. Capitalism of course wins hands down over the greater good in these situations every time.

I don't know what your point is here. You started the thread asking if cigalikes should be discontinued but gave no reason at all as to what prompted the question. They have introduced a lot of people to vaping. Some people go straight to better models (like me, I hated the idea of cigalikes) but any intro to vaping is better than none. Before I started vaping I discussed e cigs with people on a footy forum (believe it or not) and some people hated the idea of a fake cig, they would feel stupid with one of those. Other people it doesn't bother them and it's step one into researching forums exactly like this one and finding better options. I have to say I read most of your posts on this thread and you seem to be looking for confrontation while offering no opinions or solutions which isn't really any help to anyone. ( but any intro to vaping is better than none.) there are many other cheap intro's other than cigalikes. Sorry you have the feeling of confrontation , the heading is after all ( what do YOU think ) Sorry if I misread your posts. I have seen cheaper and better intros than cigalikes but the kind of people who look into e cigs for the first time only ever see the ones in supermarkets or come across some clown selling them in a mall.

I totally agree phoenix they are the stigma the binding link to the appearance of smoking which needs to be cut out and dissociated with. visually why would you want people to think you're smoking a cigarette if you're trying to stop smoking. As long as people see what appears to be smoke any and all e cigs will be associated with smoking. There is no chance at all of removing that association. The best plan is to educate people that these devices pose no threat to them whatsoever. If we can manage that it won't matter what the e cigs look like.

mybad the AIO is a cig-a-like, just a posh one! And 'banned' / 'discontinued'? Is there a difference, really? You did state that if your posh cigalike was to be banned it would leave only NRT now IF your only option into the world of vaping was by way of an ego battery that looks nothing like a cigarette would you have still started vaping, Banned / discontinued, yes / ban one you banned them all for the same reason, discontinued replace with new model. I don't know what your point is here. You started the thread asking if cigalikes should be discontinued but gave no reason at all as to what prompted the question. silentscream from what I can see, it's possible that the expiry date is almost up, if your interested go ahead and treat yourself, the worst that would happen is the strengh/flavour may diminish Ah... now that you mention it that's what stopped me when I saw the thread on the other forum. I'll probably have a go anyway if there's no harm when the stuff goes out of date. Any kind of info on that anywhere?

My intro to e cigs was some chap in a mall in Wycombe who tried to sell me a cigalike. I didn't like that it looked like a cigarette and asked if he had ones like I saw in Donnie Brasko. The guy in a car had a blue one. He said no, I didn't buy anything from him. The fact they look like cigarettes can actually put a lot of people off, well it did that to me.
I don't care if they are still around or not, doesn't bother me as long as people have easy access to knowledge that there are far superior alternatives out there.

I have to admit I'm tempted to get a few of these to mess around with. I just think at those prices there has to be something wrong with them. I know there isn't though Let us know how you get on with the juices babs

Obviously we can't help it if some companies lump us in with smokers but it's important we count ourselves as non smokers in day to day life to change people's perception of vaping. No point taking risks with insurance though. As Karma says, just check with them to see if vaping counts as smoking for them, it doesn't hurt to ask but it might hurt later if you make a claim that's voided.
