2ohm coil at 8W would produce 2V, because power = v * v/r, so 8 = (V*V)/2 => V = 2V to get 4V from 1.5ohm, you would need 4 * 4 /1.5 = 10.6W, as @yinyang said.
The basic laws are P = V*I I = V/R where P=power, V= volts, I = current in amperes.

Hi, would anybody have a spare 18650/18350 charger? lots on the market, but there seem to be loads of fakes. Concerned about XYZ charger bursting into flames, so I would prefer a charger that someone has used without issues. thks

Obviously, life-expectancy is possibly less then the life of the PC, so filing away all the software and windows DVD is essential. not really. AnandTech, a very well respected tech forum, recently calculated that a Samsung 840 (one of the worst SSDs you could/can buy), coud do 272TB of writes before you couldnt write to it anymore. Given that a reasonably heavy user would maybe write 20GB a day, that works out to 13600 days before it fails because of overuse. plenty of time, I think. Modern SSDs can endure far more than 272TB. link if you want the gory details. www.anandtech.com/show/6459/samsung-ssd-840-testing-the-endurance-of-tlc-nand

Bluefish, SSDs are relatively expensive, but you need only a small one for your OS and programs. As an example, on Arbico, adding a 60GB SSD as your primary hard drive, and adding a second 2TB hard drive for storage would add about £100 to your order. and they are fast. My windows 7 laptop used to take over 1 minute to boot up with a normal HDD. With a SSD, it is less than 30 secs from being turned off. I use Linux, and that takes about 5.5 secs. As for Office, I just discovered Kingsoft Office and it seems very good indeed. and free.

My 2 cents: - Get one with a SSD for atleast the OS and a traditional HDD for the data storage. The speed difference is amazing - I bought a PC from Arbico (http://www.arbico.co.uk/) and its been great for the past 2 years - While Openoffice is decent, you will randomly lose formatting, fonts, bullets, styles etc. if you open a MS-Office document in OO and vice versa. In my opinion, MSOffice is worth it. Do check if your employer has a deal with MS, or if you can get a student edition (legitimately) - If you want to play games, the HD4000 graphics mentioned earlier will perform very poorly. You will need a decent graphics card to play most games at nice-looking settings - Do ensure your PC has USB3 - Having a card reader is definitely more worthwhile than a CD/DVD drive - Check the fan noise levels. You may not notice it when you buy, but you will definitely notice when you are trying to work, or watch a movie - If it has Wifi, it may be worth checking that the antenna can be connected remotely. Some have a cable to which you can attach the antenna so it gets a better signal - Don't skimp on the keyboard and mouse - they are what you use to interact with your PC the most. Take the time to type atleast several dozen words using the keyboard
