No problem Chrissie, i've been laying new flooring in the kitchen today.
I do feel the e-cig will help me to give up, it's just finding the right one.
The one i have feels right, shapewise, vapour etc. although the flavour could be better.
Well done Scylla and Tree-Peony, i was hoping i would be able to do the same.

Hi,
Thanks for all the replies.
I know i should not be smoking with high blood pressure, but no-one ever comments on the fact. Doctor or the smoking clinic.
The smoking clinic gave me gum and inhalators, they didn't actually mention the BP at all. The gum gives me too much wind. (LOL) and the inhalators make my throat raw and i can't speak for 10 minutes or so. I tried the inhalator without the nicotine, but the shape is not the same to try to give the impression of smoking. (By that i mean making myself think i am smoking), giving my hands something to do.
Then they gave me patches, but as before it is the action of smoking i find hard, especially sitting at the computer. I think i could quite easily give up smoking using the e-cigs.
I have decided that i definately want to give up smoking, but the help? from the clinics has been unsuccessful over the last 6 months. My first grandchild is now 9 months and when i play with her i do not realise that i have not smoked for 2-3 hours. From when she was born i have not smoked in the house when she visits.

To be honest i have not mentioned it to my doctor, but was going to when i go for my 6 months check up (in two weeks time).
I have been to the smoking clinic at the local chemist and i mentioned the e-cigs, but she said they did not condone them as they did not think it helped people to give up smoking. Only change from real cigarettes to the e-cig.

Hi Chrissie,
Thanks for all the info.
It did come with just the one battery. Also the filters that came in the starter pack are high nicotine content.
The warning about high blood pressure was on the bottom of one of the e-cigs.co.uk pages. There are no warnings in the pack i have.

I bought my first and only e-cig on the spur of the moment, while i was out. Without having researched anything about them. Wish i had seem this forum first. The e-cig i have is this one here:- www.smartcigarette.infoI liked the looked of it because it has the proper cigarette shape. I have just been reading through some of the threads on here and had a look at www.e-cigs.co.uk and found a warning that people with high blood pressure should not use them. I am on treatment and blood pressure is under control. Does anybody have high blood pressure or have a problem with e-cigs, please?
