Actually when I zoom in in your photos I can see that the negative leg of your coil is way too long and distorting the grommet insulator. Can't see the positive wires but there possibly too long too. Cut then all as short as possible with a small pair of nail clippers. Greg, can you show me, I cant see them for the life of me m8? thanks

I dont mind doing it... but what I didn't expect is to get something out of a packet and start modifying it out of the pack, it should be good to go from the outset, so I need to get coil, and sort it out before I use it... I see what your saying about jumping in, but I dont mind doing that, I have to learn how to do it, anyone can recommend what equipment I need and where to get it from please? I just thought it would be later rather than sooner I would be doing this, first mod, "fail" so onto the next stage... thanks guys for your help so far

00.0 (with the coil thats giving me 2.00) This is the problem, you have a dead short and when connecting your battery your shorting out the battery, not good and dangerous. Im not familiar with the aerotank heads but I believe their similar construction to the protank 2 only dual coil. The likely short is because the coil lead legs at the base of the head are a little long and are shorting out. Take the coil head back out of the atty and see if you can see any wires poking out by the white rubber grommet in the base of the coil head. Cut these as short as possible then test again until you get 2 ohms on your meter. Then your good to go. Don't connect to the battery if your getting zero ohms. You cant mess with the coils, there's nothing to see or touch

Looking at the mod.... it doesn't seem to be insulated at all at the bottom, so when I press the button on the bottom, it will go through the body and short it... this could be the reason, there is an insulation ring (in pick) for the battery, but where the spring button and the threaded pin is, there nothing to insulate

Either on a regulated mod (svd, vamo etc) that has resistance checker or on a dedicated resistance meter or with a multimeter (set to 200 ohms, red lead to 510 pin of the atty and black lead to threaded part of the atty 510 connector) I am getting a reading 2.0 on one coil, and 6.7 on the other coil, it should read 0.0 right??

How do I test the coil?
Just the mod itself with the battery in it, the battery isn't overheating, when I attach the atty it overheats

Insulation looks fine to me, the battery is sitting on top of it, and is the bottom is clear of the body and not touching anything (photos)
