John I think Steve has added a link in now to the banner.... as for the link back here to the forum Steve will prob get around to that too Err, not as far as I can see?? The only banner acting in the way I suggested is your one, and you did that yourself didn't you? Or am I missing something here? If I click on Steve's one it takes me straight to the forums. Could be I'm just going mad of course Oi'll get me coat... John

I've updated the banner maker to include a link to the forum home page with the image. Hi Steve, Nice one, but imho it would be more logical to have it clickthrough to the banner creation page, then add a clickable link on that page that would clickthrough to these forums. Reason I say that is that I've clicked on other counter banners, thinking 'I'd like one of those', but they usually are promoting some company or other that I'd rather not help promote. If you do it the way I suggest it makes it dead easy to get one of your shiny banners, so I think would maximise the take up, and that should knock on to more visits here. Can't be a coincidence that that's the way the companies (like the one Gordy's promoting ) do it I just love the independant ethos here and think it deserves some promotion! Cheers, John

Hi, Really like these banners. Got me thinking though, what are banners really for? Promotion, that's what So on that front I've got a couple of suggestions. Why not make the banners take you to the page that generates them when they're clicked on? Like the other banner that Gordy uses - click on it and you'll see what I mean. That way other peeps elsewhere can get one of these banners for themselves. Also, on that page (where the advert banner is on the Gordy example I've used above is), replace that with a banner that brings you here to these forums. Shiny banners for all, and more visitors here Whaddya think? John P.S. Perhaps even a permanent link to the banner generator page somewhere obvious on these forums? Not too pushy is it? I've added clicks on both banners ...is that what you were thinking? Yeah that kind of thing. Then at the bottom of the banner creation page add an obvious clickable link that would bring you here to these forums (much like the ad banner in your other counter banner). John

This looks like a really neat idea, think I'll give it a try.
Quick question, are you guys boil cleaning first, or just bunging them in as is?
John

^^^^^what Gordy (aka tyefighter) said ^^^^^ jmc160Welcome, and congratz on taking the plunge. From what you say about yer smokin habits I think you'll find your choice of kit will do the job quite nicely. HeadHunterDude, chill out a bit. The peeps here are a damn sound crowd. For what it's worth, I started out on a cig-a-like (SKYCig), but it only took me about 4 weeks to suss that they're dang expensive for what they are (both in initial purchase and running costs). IMHO, An Echo/Ego/Riva/Tornado is bang on for anyone who smoked upwards of 10 tabs a day, and I congratulate jmc160 on doing the research that I didn't do initially I don't have vast experience of vaping suppliers (just Cloud9vaping where I got my Riva, and VapeEscape where I got some juice and Cartos), but both are excellent suppliers, and both give excellent service with a personal touch. Just wish every retailer was that good! Cheers, John

Glad to hear you got it OK and that yer old man is using it. Now you just got to get him a stainless steel Riva and yer job will be done! Heh. I've dropped you an email, John

Hi Headhunter, There's a thread here that seems to indicate that the VIP is a 4081: ukvapers.com/topic/1089-can-anyone-help/Plenty of suppliers sell 510 to 4081 adapters, but that's kinda the opposite of what you'd want To fit your 510 cartos to a VIP battery you'd need a 4081 to 510 adapter, and I dunno if such a thing even exists ? Hope that's some help anyway, John

@river, Yeah, I already don't like how real tabs taste, heh. The one day I lapsed a few weeks back (ran out of juice) I smoked 6 rollies and didn't enjoy them at all (but needed the nic ) jason, Worry not, they didn't go to waste, they found a new home (with SamV in fact ) I'm just using a Riva with standard Boge cartos (from your good self) just now, and my C9V juice (RY4, Reds and TB are 24mg). BTW I'm thinking of trying out some of those Kanger horizontal coil cartos with my next pick'n'mix, do you think they'll be ok with 650 mah Riva batteries? All the best, John

Hi Womble, Fellow noob vaper here (just over 7 weeks now). To me it sounds like it's your taste buds adjusting/recovering. I found that I was waking up with what I thought was a sweet taste in my mouth in the mornings, until I sussed it was actually just a lack of stale bitter cig tastes Cheers, John
