Nooooo im still alive   I touched the 2 probes together on the settings advised and it read 0.4 so i checked a base i had with a coil on it and it reads 2.00 ohms so taking the 0.4 away should give me a 1.6ohms ressistance thew that confused me lol.
Then i checked my base with the coil on it on my MVP and BINGO it reads 1.6ohms so spot on.


I also checked the ressistance between the 2 screws with the coil fitted and it was the same.
 
Dont think the misses is to happy though i rolled in from the garage at 10pm to a waiting face of thunder oppps

I put it all in cHooBeyDoo just make sure its all nice and dry, Normally leave mine on the window seal while im at work for the day

Hi cHooBeyDoo when i get new gear i strip it all down give it a wash in a bit of fairy and warm water to remove any grease then over night in ajug of water with a steredent tablet thrown in (not minty though)

Then in the morning nice rinse off with warm water and leave it all to dry on some kitchen roll. (just my way)

Hi my dad game me a circuit tester today and was wondering if i could use it to check the resistance (ohms) of my microcoils before i had to rebuild the base with coil to be able to check my ohms.

My questions please

If i put the pos and neg on each leg of the microcoil will it give me the correct reeding ?

Ive put up a pic where would i put the pos and neg leads ?

And where would be the correct position for the dial to be in ?

Sorry but electrics is not my strong point and didnt just want to bin it if it could be used
