I had this the other day in a coffee shop. There was one other customer in the shop, on the other side but I thought to myself, "no, I should always be considerate and ask if it's ok". So I asked the barista, tried to explain it to him and he looked partly as if he was worried about putting his job on the line and partly as if I was trying to pull the wool over his eyes or something, he then said no and asked me to take it outside. The woman who was in the shop with my friend and I looked as though she was in a coma and was merely propped up so I doubt she would have noticed but what can you do.
If I'm honest, I pick my battles and would often rather go outside to vape now than get raised eyebrows and potential arguments over the legality of it all. It's still bloody annoying though!
Unless it's raining, there is still something quite nice about popping outside into the cold to get some fresh air and your nicotine fix. It's often part of the old ritual, especially seeing as I never smoked 'normal' cigs inside anyway.

Hi there,
Think I left my Riva battery charging for too long and when I tried to vape afterward, the cartomiser started hissing (it's a kanger, they don't normally do that) and it got really hot. Have I done-gone-busted my battery?

Jason and I had a chat, I sent out my stuff and he couldn't find a problem. Turns out there was nothing wrong, batteries fine, cartomisers well filled so it was just my tongue taking a funny turn, which doesn't happen often but it still happens to the odd few. I'll stick with my Kanger low resistance cartos as they're compatible with the Riva and they provide a nice hit so long as you don't press the button down for too long. He sent some different flavours back and I've been fine since, so I'm giving my cherry and menthols a rest for now. It's likely that it's due to the fact my sense of taste/smell will be returning after smoking cigarettes for so long, plus my family have quite keen shnozz's so I guess my taste is quite sensitive. Can't fault vapeescape in any way - Jason cares about his customers and is happy to help you with any problem solving, even if the problem is puzzling.  |

Thanks for all your help, guys. Jason and I spoke yesterday and I've sent my batteries and some of the cartos back to him so he can get down to the bottom of it. Even with my best detective skills, I failed and you don't know what you don't know, so I'll leave it to the professional.  buckowski - I tried the boge normal ones and I nearly passed out sucking on them trying to get a good vape, but I might try the low resistance ones if it turns out that kanger and I aren't destined to be firm friends. Or the clear ones sound like a good idea too, scylla. Who knows, I'll see what Jason says once he can get down the bottom of what happened. It could be a combination of things but basically just all-round bad luck. I'm ridiculously cranky because I miss my riva and I sold my first e-cig to my brother in Peru, bah humbug. I converted my friend to the vapeside and she's going to help out but I don't see her til Thursday. In the meantime, don't so much as look at me the wrong way.  |

Wow Lucy Lily is a beauty. You must be very proud of her Thanks, Hissie. I am incredibly proud of her, I rescued her about four years ago from a boy who was incredibly abusive towards her, which made her very defensive and fearful towards humans. When I started out, she didn't want to be near anyone, she didn't want to be handled and she definitely did not want to be ridden. It's been four long years but now she sees me differently and we have great fun together. Animals certainly do teach you a lot about yourself and life in general. |

I followed the instructions though and now I'm down to my very last empty cartomiser, I'm so confused. That's £6 down the drain. :S :/ I did the condom method on a brand new cartomiser following the instructions, using about 3/4 of capfull to fill it and it still happened, still the burning taste. Another confusion is that the 30ml bottle of eliq doesn't smell as strong as the little bottle I got in a pick and mix. I've been filling with the 30ml bottle, I'm going to try with the smaller bottle that I haven't had a problem with, absolutely soak the last cartomiser and use my other battery and see what happens but my hopes aren't high. I need to get down to the bottom of this before I go ordering new cartomisers otherwise I'll doing the same thing and most likely receiving the same results! Why did this have to happen over the weekend, lol. I'm sure vapeescape will recognise my voice when I ring by the time I've sorted this out. |

Nope, it's fine for the first couple of huffs/tokes then it's gone nasty again. *big sigh* Any suggestions? I don't think it's defunked tastebuds because my OH tried it too and noticed a negative difference and I also tried a new cartridge with a different e-liq so it's not this specific e-liq. :S

At the yard is my most favourite place to vape - great company, views and fresh air - couldn't ask for anything more. |

Thanks for replying and posting the video. When doing it using that method, I noticed the guy still had the white cap on the cartomiser, I take that off and use a drip tip though. To fill it, should the white cap be on?

Hi all, Bought a Riva following member's advice and I had a few hitches along the way but when my supplier sent me a pre-filled Kanger cartomiser, it worked perfectly and was more than happy vaping for 2 weeks. Now I've ordered a pack of five and some new e-liquid and for some reason, after I've filled them myself (about 30 drops as per recommendation), it tastes like burning and is absolutely disgusting. Has anyone had this problem? What am I doing wrong? I received the cartomisers, filled them 30 drops and left them with the caps on overnight and blew through onto a tissue/gave it a wipe before I started vaping. It's not the e-liquid as I've used that before so I'm sure it's something that I'm doing wrong. I have used several cartomisers and tried my two different batteries doing detective work and have yet to find a solution. Help! I'm getting cravings and I don't want a 'real' cigarette because now I'm on the right path and they taste bloody disgusting! I want my cherry vaping goodness back. Oh why did it have to happen on a Friday evening! |

So if I've accidentally gotten a drop of 11mg nicotine e-liquid on my fingers, it's not going to be of serious harm to my health? I naturally get it on my fingers by having to take the cartridge out to refill.

I've ordered the Riva, so that, along with menthol and apple e-liquids, should be here Thurs or Friday with any luck. In the meantime, I'm stuck with the notsosmartsmoker.
One thing that concerns me is that their e-liquid says "very toxic by inhalation" as the first line on the label. Unsurprisingly, I am inhaling as it is for use with an e-cigarette - is this a warning that I should genuinely take heed of? :/
